What a great time we had last week
celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the
founding of CVC. We had a turnout of
seventy four people including those
charter members still in the club. We were
very fortunate in that a wonderful
gentleman, Larry Linder, opened up his
estate as a venue for the party. His eclectic
accumulation of collectables was truly
amazing. The party committee did a
superb job in working with Mr. Linder,
getting great food, decorating and putting
the whole thing together. Many thanks to
committee lead Charlotte Renna, her able
assistant Bob Peluso, Andy and Connie
Anderson, Patrick and Patricia Garrahan,
and Keith and Debbie Garrison. Also
thanks to David and Lori Dukes for
providing the drinks.
November 15th is our annual meeting and
we will vote on new club officers for the
coming year. In order to vote a member
must be present at the annual meeting
and not have missed more than four
meetings during the calendar year. We
have one nominee for each office: Andy
Anderson for President, Dick Danielsen for
VP Activities, Charlotte Renna for VP Public
Relations, Dick Johnson for Treasurer and
Terry Johnson for Secretary. I would like to
personally thank these folks for accepting
the nominations. I know doing one of these
jobs takes a commitment of time and talent
that most members won’t sign up for but
the club will cease to exist without people
willing to step up.
The holiday season is fast approaching with
our annual Christmas Party December 8 and
Hay Ride on December 11. We would like
those members who have signed up for
these events to make their payments by the
November meeting.
So far we only have two runs scheduled for
next year. The Anderson’s are hosting a
Super Bowl Party again and the Lebda’s,
Henenfent’s and Danielsen’s are putting on
a Tahoe Run May 17-20. It would be nice to
welcome the new board with more runs on
the schedule so if you have something or
somewhere in mind for a run go for it. After
all, the reason we belong to the club is to go
places and do things. Right?
Membership renewals are coming in with
about half of them in so far. We expect
some members will not renew but with our
new members coming in we should end up
with close to a hundred members. It’s sad
to see members leave, for various reasons,
but our new members are certainly a
welcome addition to the club.
