3-Day Common Core in <strong>Physical</strong><br />
<strong>Education</strong> Institute<br />
Transition from “awareness” of Common Core<br />
State Standards (CCSS) to “implementation” of<br />
CCSS creates a new reality in the physical education<br />
classroom. Join us as we tackle the shifts in<br />
pedagogy that will impact assessment, instruction<br />
and daily learning outcomes.<br />
Outcomes:<br />
• An in-depth knowledge of the CCSS and<br />
<strong>Physical</strong> <strong>Education</strong> Model Content<br />
Standards.<br />
• The ability to use CCSS to create grade-level<br />
appropriate formative and summative<br />
assessments.<br />
• Instructional strategies that utilize CCSS to<br />
increase rigor and achieve greater student<br />
depth of knowledge in physical education<br />
content.<br />
• Unit and lesson plans that are ready for<br />
implementation.<br />
• A network of colleagues from throughout<br />
San Diego County to utilize for support and<br />
sharing of ideas/resources.<br />
