On the left of the dialog box you can choose from four different types of lists with packages:<br />

‰ Installed packages—This item shows a list of packages that have been <strong>in</strong>stalled <strong>in</strong>to your<br />

website. You can use this option to f<strong>in</strong>d out which version of a package you have <strong>in</strong>stalled,<br />

un<strong>in</strong>stall packages, or <strong>in</strong>stall the same package <strong>in</strong>to another website or project that is part of<br />

the same solution.<br />

‰ Onl<strong>in</strong>e—This item enables you to search for packages onl<strong>in</strong>e us<strong>in</strong>g the official NuGet<br />

package source, or on any additional feeds you may have added (which you can do us<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Tools Í Options Í Package Manager Í Package Sources). By default, the list shows the<br />

most popular packages first (measured by the number of downloads), but you can change the<br />

order<strong>in</strong>g us<strong>in</strong>g the drop-down list at the top. To the left of the Sort by drop-down you have<br />

the option to display only stable packages, or also <strong>in</strong>clude prelease versions of packages. In<br />

the upper-right corner you can search for packages by enter<strong>in</strong>g (part of) their name. Once<br />

you f<strong>in</strong>d the package you want to add to your website, select it, click the Install button <strong>and</strong><br />

the NuGet Package Manager takes care of the <strong>in</strong>stallation process. You see more of this <strong>in</strong> a<br />

later exercise.<br />

‰ Updates—This item shows a list of packages for which new versions have been released<br />

s<strong>in</strong>ce you <strong>in</strong>stalled the package <strong>in</strong>to your website. Because updates could potentially break<br />

an exist<strong>in</strong>g website, they are not <strong>in</strong>stalled automatically <strong>and</strong> you need to manually select the<br />

packages you want to update.<br />

‰ Recent packages—This item gives you a list of packages you used before. This serves as a<br />

shortcut to packages you use often so you don’t have to search for them onl<strong>in</strong>e each time you<br />

want to <strong>in</strong>stall them <strong>in</strong> your website.
