1 A 1989 Renault 5TR,
registration number F969
WFX, red. With 42,000 miles
from new, this well presented
five door Renault 5 has been
very well maintained. In the
present ownership the
Renault has had body
repairs, including a new
scuttle by Charles Ware at a
cost of £2,010. The history
file is comprehensive and
includes receipts, MOTs from
1992 (recorded mileage
14,000), owner's handbooks
and operating manuals. This
low mileage Renault would
make an excellent starter
classic and is only for sale
due to a change in the
vendor's plans. V5C, MOT to
February 2017 See
2 A 1989 left hand drive Ford
Escort XR3i, French
registered, white. This
French registered XR3i has
been stored undercover in a
barn for the last four or five
years. The vendor advises us
that the bodywork is sound
but the paintwork is dull and
the interior has no rips or
tears and he believes it
should respond well to
cleaning. He also advises
that the car runs and drives
and the odometer reads
12,761 kilometres, but he
feels that the general
condition of the car would
indicate that this is incorrect
and perhaps it should read
112,761 kilometres. The Ford
is offered for auction as a
project and will require
further recommissioning and
restoration before taking to
the road. French registration
Sold for £850
3 A 1983 BMW 316 two door
saloon, registration number
purchased by a Mr J Beale
from G Eric Hunt Ltd BMW
Ferrensby branch at a cost of
£6,400 (original bill of sale on
file). This low mileage
example is finished in a very
distinctive shade of green
with contrasting green cloth
interior and has a five speed
gearbox. The accompanying
history file is comprehensive
with MOTs from 1992
onwards, service history
stretching back to the original
supplying dealer, and the
original dealer supplied wallet
with all handbooks. V5C,
Ducati Corse Q2 JTDM 16V,
registration number BP08
VYH, red. This limited edition
of 234, three door 147 has
only covered 60,000 miles
from new. It has been in the
current lady's ownership
since 2011 and has wanted
for nothing during that time.
The Ducati Corse was
created by Alfa to celebrate
Ducati's 2007 World Moto GP
victory. As one would expect
the special edition is
equipped to a high standard
with full black leather interior
with contrasting red stitching
and Ducati Corse logo, six
speed gearbox, contrasting
satin finish mirrors and grille,
exclusive 18 inch alloy
entertainment and exclusive
Ducati Corse badging. This
example has been
fastidiously maintained with a
full service history which has
been carried out by Alfa
Romeo for the first three
years and DS Purcell. The

service book has eight
stamps (last at 57,081 miles),
receipts for maintenance
including a cambelt change
(December 2015), previous
MOTs verifying the mileage
and all dealer supplied
handbooks. The Alfa is now
only for sale due to the lady
owner purchasing a new car.
7 A 1985 Rover SD1 2600
Vanden Plas, registration
number C238 GGJ, Oporto
red. With less than 35,000
miles from new, this time
originally supplied by Henlys
of Epsom, Surrey. The Rover
has had three previous
owners before it was
purchased by our vendor, a
West Country based
collector, and is finished in a
most attractive colour
combination of Oporto red
with a contrasting oatmeal
cloth interior. The vendor
states that the original tool kit
and wheel brace appear to
have never been used. The
Rover has a history file
containing a run of MOTs
from 1990, which confirm the
low mileage and receipts.
This very original Rover is
now ready to grace another
collection. V5C, MOT to July
currently SORN and will
probably require some light
recommissioning as it has
not been on the road since
the restoration. V5C, MOT to
9 WITHDRAWN - to be
offered in our auction on
Sunday 12th February 2017:
A 1939 Ford Prefect,
registration number 929
YUU, black. Being a rare
sliding sunroof model, this
Ford offers a little more than
the usual Prefect. It still
retains its original green
leather interior and engine
which has recently benefited
from a comprehensive
rebuild with new pistons,
piston rings, shell bearings
and clutch. The Prefect is
offered for auction with some
history, including the original
RF60, confirming that original
registration number was DAB
that this charming Ford is on
the button and has been
used as part of a wedding car
fleet where it has performed
faultlessly. The car is offered
for sale due to its diminutive
size causing problems for
brides entering the vehicle
and is being sold to aid the
purchase of a larger car.
11 A 1972 Rover P5B coupé,
registration number NYM
938L, chassis number
84507430, engine number
84018968, Arden green over
Silver Birch. This P5B has
featured in Top Gear with
Richard Hammond.
Introduced in 1969, the P5B
featured the new Buick 3.5
litre engine in the svelte
coupé and saloon bodies.
They found favour with
government ministers, the
business elite and even had
royal patronage. As a coupé
example it is the most sought
after with its contrasting
colour lowered roofline,
sculpted rear seats and
chrome Rostyle wheels.
Having only covered a
believed 79,000 miles from
new, NYM 938L was
supplied by Middlesex
Motors (Harrow) London to
its first owners, Moris, Tozer
& Beck Ltd, London.
Presented in what is probably
the best colour combination
of Arden green with a Silver
Birch roof and Saddle tan
leather interior, featuring its
original radio and toolkit. The
accompanying history file
contains the original Passport
to Service, owner's
handbook, past MOTs and
receipts. P5B coupés are
very fashionable in the
should appeal to collectors
and investors alike. V5C,
Chevanne is one of only a
examples on the road and
one of less than 20 surviving
examples. The first owner
was SMT in Scotland, a
Vauxhall/Bedford dealer who
used the van for parts
delivery. The second owner
was the SMT workshop
manager, who purchased the
van for his personal use. At
some point the decision was
made to take the van off the
road and it remained in
storage for over 20 years
before a full no expense
spared restoration was
carried out with genuine GM
parts. The third owner was
the workshop managers son
who kept the van for a short
period before selling it to a
Scottish gentleman who saw
it displayed at a classic car
show. There have been two
further owners who have
both cherished and shown
23 A 1960 Ford Thunderbird
coupé, registration number
GIB 7024, Powder/Baby
blue. Ford's first 'personal
car' the T-Bird was conceived
to challenge Chevrolet's
Corvette and made its debut
in October 1954. Endowed
with Ford's new overhead
valve V8, the car would
remain fundamentally
unchanged until 1958 when
the second generation
Square-Bird was introduced.
This version was longer,
offered four seats and was
the first of the line to adopt
unitary construction. This
particular example was
originally exported to Paris
before finding its way to
England in 1987. Finished in
a very becoming shade of
Powder blue with a
contrasting black and cream
interior. The car is described
by the vendor as being very
original and still retains the
original radio, three speed
Cruisermatic gearbox and
352inc V8. This T-Bird
featured in Classic American
in 1988 (copy supplied with
the car) and has been
extensively exhibited on the
South West Classic Car
scene during the vendor's
eleven year custodianship.
Now only for sale due to the
vendor having moved home
and with it the large garage
where the car resided! The T-
British roads. V5C, MOT to
West and appearing in
classic publications including
Tailgate Issue 69-2014
where it appeared in an
which
contains
correspondence from
Daimler including a letter
dated 1947, receipts, past
MOTs, magazine articles and
registration number CUF
VRS3/3173, engine number
40FBAH3093, grey over
silver. During the 1960s
BMC, Rolls-Royce and the
pre-eminent coach builder,
Vanden Plas collaborated on
several projects, culminating
in the Vanden Plas Princess
4-Litre R launched in 1964.
The luxury saloon featured a
modified Farina A110 body
with a unique tail design, the
Rolls-Royce FB60 4-litre six
cylinder engine and a
sumptuous leather, walnut
and Wilton carpeted interior.
This extremely low mileage
example was originally
supplied by Stringers of
Brighton to a Mr Letts, who
was to retain the car until his
death in 1985, whereupon it
passed on to another family
member. Since then there
has been one further
custodian. The Princess
would remain in storage for
eighteen years until being
recommissioned with a brake
overhaul, a new fuel tank,
and carburettor overhaul.
The car was originally
supplied in black over grey,
which was felt a little too
severe. A full quality respray
was carried out in metallic
grey over silver to
compliment the beautifully
preserved tan leather interior.
number 9126001717, white.
Porsche's 912E is one of the
rarest Porsche models made,
with only 2,099 manufactured
to compliment the 911S in
the lucrative North American
market. The 912E shared the
911S chassis and body
styling but incorporated the
914 fuel injected two litre
derived engine. This 911E
was imported from Arizona in
2015 and was originally
supplied by Alan Johnson
Porsche on 30th June 1976
to its first registered keeper
Dennis Foster & Son. Having
been imported from a dry
state the Porsche has a solid
and rust free body shell. Prior

to being imported the engine
was rebuilt by Lloyd Mosher
Enterprises Porsche and VW
in California. The engine is
fitted with a twin Weber
performance kit which has
been tuned since arriving in
Britain. Further works carried
out have included the
rebuilding of the gearbox,
general servicing and
preparation for the MOT,
which it passed on 1st
September 2016 without any
40 A 1938 Morris 14/6 Series
number BEW 234, black.
Launched at the 1937
alongside its 10, 12 and 25
stable mates, the 14 featured
an overhead valve engine,
four speed gearbox with
synchromesh on third and
fourth, painted (rather than
chrome) radiator cowl,
Easyclean wheels, and
sliding sunroof. This
incredibly original example
was discovered in barn find
condition in a West London
garage where it had been in
hibernation since the 1970s.
Being a Series III car it is one
of approximately 5,000
produced between 1938 and
early 1939, and it is believed
to be one of only six known
to the pre-1940 Morris
register. Since awakening the
Morris from its slumber in
2011 the vendor has traced
the history to its time as a
staff car with the Air Ministry
at RAF Warboys and
subsequent sale to the local
village store in February
1944. Having transported the
Morris back to his home in
Somerset, he embarked on a
programme
of
recommissioning the car,
retaining as much originality
as possible. Works carried
out include replacing the two
6 volt batteries, new cross ply
tyres all round, reconditioning
the Jackall system,
overhauling the breaking
system, respraying the
bonnet and rear spare wheel
cover and servicing the car
as necessary. The
accompanying history file
contains two original
handbooks, Morris Garages
trade catalogue, Lucas
41 A 1990 Porsche 911 (964)
Tiptronic
cabriolet,
registration number H957
NEY, Guards red. New for
1989 the 964 featured both
two and four wheel drive
versions and had an
estimated 85% new
components compared to its
911 predecessor. The engine
had increased to 3.6 litres,
the suspension was new with
coil springs and shock
absorbers to replace the
previous torsion bar
suspension, ABS braking
was added for the first time,
the bumpers and fog lamps
became flush with the body
and the ingenious electric
rear spoiler raised at speeds
over 50mph. This particular
example, finished in the
classic colour combination of
Guards red with a full black
leather interior, is a C16 UK
specified right hand drive
Tiptronic version, which was
first registered in 1990 in
Germany and found its way
to the UK in 1996. The
vendor describes the car as

eing in splendid shape, and
is equipped with power hood,
new soft top and tonneau
cover, 17 inch cup alloy
wheels, tear drop mirrors,
Porsche cup steering wheel,
and service history to verify
the 110,000 miles on the
odometer. The condition of
the Porsche can possibly be
put down to having formed
part of a small private
233B, chassis number
408/7041, engine number
949/23638C, car number
408-1-041, gearbox number
1909340, black over
champagne. This matching
numbers 408 is one of only
83 examples produced
between 1963 and 1965.
They all featured the 5.1 litre
V8 engine matched to the
Torque Flite automatic
gearbox and coil spring front
suspension in place of the
previous 407s transverse leaf
spring setup. This particular
fine example was in single
family ownership for 42 years
before being purchased by
Marksdanes Ltd, the
respected restoration
company in Somerset.
Originally supplied by
Anthony Crook Motors Ltd to
its first custodian, the
managing director of Norman
Isherwood & Company Ltd,
Bolton, before the second
owner a Mr Sidney Newman
from Clifton Bristol was in
possession of the car from
1965 to 1971 when he sold
the Bristol back to the
supplying dealer. Anthony
Crook subsequently sold the
408 to Mr David Oxford of
Southwell, Nottinghamshire
who retained the car until his
death, where upon ownership
passed to his daughter who
retained the Bristol until
selling the car to Marksdanes
Ltd, with over a remarkable
42 years in a single family
ownership. On acquiring the
vehicle a thorough
recommissioning and
refurbishment programme of
works was carried out. This
included a full high quality
respray in a stunning colour
combination of black over
champagne. The interior
benefited from new Wilton
carpets, new headlining and
reveneering of all wood
surfaces. The engine had a
cylinder head overhaul, the
carburettors were rebuilt and
the engine bay was detailed
with consumables as
necessary. Since completion
the engine has been tuned
by Sigma Engineering, which
the vendor says has done
wonders to the overall
running and performance.
Further noteworthy works
included a brake overhaul,
refurbished wheels and new
Avon Turbosteel tyres and
rechromed bumpers. All of
this hard work has created a
handsome gentleman's
express which is ready to be
enjoyed by the next lucky
owner, perhaps for another
40 years! RF60, V5C, MOT
number TB0478, red. MG's
TB is one of the rarest of the
to feature the all new XPAG
engine, which would go on to
power almost every MG
model and several special
racing cars for the next 15
years. This particular TB
Special has been imported
from Australia by the vendor
and sports a unique and very
rakish two seat body. The
Special was constructed by
an engineer and is well
known to the TB register and
saw some mild competition
Introduced in 1969 the
refreshed Karmann designed
TR6 was the last of the
separate chassis traditional
sports cars produced by
Triumph. From 1969 to 1975
they were initially available
with the 150 bhp rated
engine, with the final year of
production seeing the fuel
injected engine seeing a
reduction in power to 125
bhp. This 125 bhp desirable
manual overdrive example is
finished in striking magenta
and has been in the vendor's
ownership since 2002, when
it was purchased from a
house sale at Heightley
Manor, Chudleigh, Devon, in
a restored condition with a
***file (see below)*** of
restoration works carried out.
Since then the vendor has
used the TR6 very sparingly
only adding a modest couple
of thousand miles to the
odometer. Recently the TR6
has benefited from a new
clutch, alternator and battery.
59 A 1962 Bentley S3
standard saloon, registration
number RDX 283, chassis
number B50CN, engine
number BCN25, Seychelles
blue. Introduced in 1962 the
revived S3 featured the
6230cc all aluminium V8,
distinctive four head lamp
lighting, the removal of the
side lights from the wing
tops, a slightly lower radiator
shell and an improved interior
with increased room for the
rear passengers and
individual front seats. B50CN
would appear to have had a
cosseted life with its three
registered keepers, since
being despatched to H R
Owen the supplying dealer
on 9th November 1962.
Originally finished in Shell
grey over Tudor grey with a
grey leather interior. LWL
Alston Esq of Messars
Alston, Ipswich, Suffolk
would subsequently take
delivery on 15th November
and would retain the Bentley
until 1993. The second owner
a Mr Gerald Small of Belfast
acquired B50CN on 30th
August 1993. He would also
become a long term owner
before being acquired by
Alistair Daker, a Bentley
classic car specialist in
December 2015 who would
supply the car to our vendor
in January 2016. It is
understood that during Mr
Smalls custodianship
extensive renovation work
was carried out by Meriden,
the classic Ferrari and
Maserati specialist in the
New Forest. Their rear
window sticker is still in place
today. It is likely that the
colour change to Seychelles
blue took place then. This
work included new front and
rear screen and door
rubbers. There is an early
invoice from around a similar
time from Messars Arnett of
Bournemouth, official Rolls-
Royce and Bentley
distributors, who carried out
£5,000 of mechanical
restorations works, mainly on
the brakes and a 6,000 mile
service at the same time.
This work was carried out at
a recorded mileage of 99,000
miles, just 12,000 miles ago.
Little used over the last 23
years, B50CN now comes to
the market as a thoroughly
useable, on the button
example and has seen recent
excursions to London and
back from South Devon and
the vendor states without
fault or missing a beat and
achieving 21 mpg on the
motorway. Good oil pressure
and water temperature
readings were maintained
during these journeys. As an
older restoration, B50CN
would benefit from minor
paint work refreshment here
and there but has good
chrome work, including a
recently rechromed front
bumper and a stunning
original interior. Now with
only 111,000 miles on the
odometer, B50CN is offered
for auction with an original
sales brochure, construction
& test records from RREC,
the Arnett of Bournemouth
invoice, a letter confirming
the mileage from Mr Gerald
manual and a tailored car
