Articles for the Parkscripts have to be submitted at least 5 weeks prior
to the time it is printed and delivered to our residents. Due to this
timeline, the results of the election for two directors on the Board, will be
published on our web page and in the next newsletter.
PLAYGROUPS
Memorial Parkway moms have recently started a playgroup. Our goal
is for our children to build friendships, for each other and to build
friendships and build our sense of community in Memorial Parkway.
We will have play dates in homes, meet ups at our playground and
local parks, outings around Katy and Girl’s Night Out events. Search

2017 MAINTENANCE FEES
The assessment for 2017 is $375.
Statements for the 2017 maintenance fees were mailed to all homeowners
during the first week of October and will be due January 1, 2017. You
may pay the assessment any time before the due date.
The Board of Directors is allowing 3 ways to pay your fees:
1. Mail check or money order for the total amount due to the address
shown on the statement. Make sure your payee address is correct.
2. Pay online via credit card at mphoa.org and click on the pay online
tab. Credit card payments may also be made in the office. There is a $10
convenience charge for all assessments paid via credit card.
3. Payment plans were available in the office at no charge if you signed
up prior to November 30, 2016. You may still get on a payment plan in
December and January, but there will be a fee of $35 fee added to your
account. January 29, 2017 is the last day to sign up.

HOW TO REPORT BACKYARD NUISANCE
If you have a neighbor with a terrible backyard such as garbage dumping,
unsanitary conditions, unsecured private swimming pools, etc., you can
go to Harris County Public Health and Environmental Services’ Website
to file a complaint, www.hcphes.org/eph/complaints.
NEED CURB REPAIR??
Do you have a broken curb in front of your home... Did you know that
Harris County Precinct 3 will come and fix it? It is as easy as going
to their website and filling out the service request form. They will
come and fix it for free (well, that is your tax dollars at work)! They
will not fix the curved part that attaches to your driveway, that is the
homeowner’s responsibility. You can go to www.harriscountytx.gov/
servicerequestform/default.aspx?pct3 and fill out the service request
form if you have a broken curb that needs repaired.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE
The dumpster at the rear of our parking lot on Cimarron Parkway is not
for use by residents who want to get rid of their garbage or debris. This
dumpster is for Association use only. We have a security camera on the
premises, so if you’re guilty of throwing your trash in our dumpster, we
probably have you on video tape.
SIDEWALKS
All sidewalks, within Common Areas, shall be maintained by the
Association. All other sidewalks shall be maintained by the owner of
the lot on which the sidewalk is situated. If any section of your sidewalk
is uneven, which may cause someone to trip and hurt themselves, you
are responsible for repairing or replacing that section of the sidewalk
and liable for any injuries incurred. In some cases, a sunken section of a
sidewalk may be caused by a water or sewer line leak. If you’re in doubt,
you can call Precinct 3 at 281-463-6300 and request that someone come
to your home and check it out.
MPCA ID INFORMATION
Every resident must have a MPCA I.D. CARD to use the pools, clubhouse
and tennis courts. If you’re a new resident or have never had a card,
complete the I.D. Registration form which can be found at mphoa.org
under forms and documents and turn it into the office and wait at least
3 days before coming to get your picture taken for the ID card. If you
already have a card and the information is current, all you have to do is
turn the card in to the office for a 2016 sticker. Make sure that you have
already turned your information in to the office before coming to any of
the sessions to have your picture taken.
STREET GUTTERS AND DRAINS
We ask that you keep the street area in front of your home clean, so that
leaves, pine needles, grass clippings and dirt won’t accumulate in the
gutters next to the curb and end up being washed into the drains causing
them to back up and flood the streets. If you see someone putting grass

REMINDER FOR DOG WALKERS
Be a responsible / considerate pet owner by picking up your dog’s waste
from your neighbor’s yard when you’re out for a walk. There’s nothing
more frustrating than stepping in fecal matter in your own yard when you
don’t even have a pet.
LEASH LAW
Animals that are not properly restrained pose a threat to all our residents.
While you may know your pet is friendly, an animal running at someone
who is walking by is very scary for that person. Many children are afraid
of animals and become frightened, which could result in the child
getting hurt trying to avoid the animal. Harris County Animal Control
advises, “All dogs and cats must be kept under restraint while in the
unincorporated areas of Harris County, Texas. The custodian of a dog
or cat is not authorized to have, harbor or keep any unlicensed dog or
cat nor to allow any dog or cat to become a stray.” Restraint is defined
as “the control of a dog or cat under the following circumstances:
1. When it is controlled by a line or leash not more than six (6) feet in
length, if the line or leash is held by a human being who is capable of
controlling or governing the dog or cat in question.
2. When it is within a fully enclosed vehicle.
3. When it is on the premise of the custodian and the animal does not
have access to sidewalk or street.
While it may be nice to have your animal out in the yard while you work or
play, it is against the law, unless the animal is properly restrained. Let’s all
help keep our community a safe and comfortable place for all our residents
by being responsible pet owners. This will not only protect anyone who may
be walking or bicycling in the area, but also the pet owner who could be held
legally responsible or possibly sued for failing to properly restrain their pet.
Please remember that cats fall under the same laws as dogs and must be
licensed and kept restrained when not on the premises of the owner. We’ve
been told that spreading moth balls in flower beds might keep cats away.

barking dogs. In order to file a formal complaint you must be willing to

A HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS
The Fulshear Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Fulshear
presents A Holly Jolly Christmas on Saturday, December 3, 2016
in Downtown Fulshear from 5:30 PM to 9 PM. This year’s Holly Jolly
Christmas will include Ice Skating, Santa, Live Music, The Frozen
Sisters, a Live Nativity, along with a Children’s area, Vendor Booths and
a Walking Parade. The event will commence promptly at 5:30 PM with
announcements and a walking parade. Parade entry is free. Vendors and
stores will be set up with food, crafts, clothing and jewelry so you can
get some holiday shopping done! Santa will arrive during the parade and
will visit the children’s area, which will also include a LIVE Nativity Scene
and an Ice skating rink! Live music during the event by Thrive church and
White Stone band. The White Stone Band is comprised of nine Katy and
Fort Bend area worship music veterans with a passion for Funk, Jazz and
R&B. They come together to honor the music of Chicago, Earth Wind &
Fire, Steely Dan, Tower of Power, Steve Wonder and others. Temporary
road closures for the event: All lanes of FM 359 will be closed between
Front St. and Second St. between 11 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2016
and 1 AM on Sunday, December 4, 2016. Front St. will be closed between
Wilson St. and Harris St. for the duration of the event. Detour routes and

JOURNEY TO BETHLEHEM
EXPERIENCE THE NIGHT HOPE WAS BORN
Current - A Christian Church (currentchristian.org) is hosting the
15 th annual Journey to Bethlehem - an outdoor walk-through drama
portraying the birth of Christ. The event will be held Thursday through
Sunday, December 8 th -11 th at Current - A Christian Church, located at
26600 Westheimer Parkway, just south of Interstate 10, Pin Oak exit #740.

at the simple manger where Christmas began.

December 2 nd - Ring in the season with the 97 th Annual Mayor’s Holiday
Celebration and Tree Lighting in the heart of downtown Houston. The
spectacular event is a holiday tradition of music, Santa, fireworks and

lights, shimmering ornaments and a stunning star topper will light up
the streets of downtown Houston this holiday season. The event takes

December 2 nd - 4 th - Dickens on the Strand, Galveston, TX. The annual
holiday street festival, based on 19 th century Victorian London, features
parades, non-stop entertainment on five stages, strolling carolers,

laden with holiday food and drink, Victorian-inspired crafts, clothing,

December 10 th - The 55 th Annual League City Christmas Boat Lane
Parade presented by the City of Kemah will be at Kemah Boardwalk!
This annual Clear Lake parade features more than 100 brightly
decorated power and sailboats that traverse the Clear Lake channel
from the South Shore Harbour Marina and the Nassau Bay Lagoon
to Galveston Bay. Grab the whole family to watch the hundreds of
festive boats pass by the Clear Lake channel to Galveston Bay! For
