Visit to India

IN MARCH 2016, NOMAN AND I FLEW TO
DELHI, INDIA IN CONnection with the
printing, multimedia and translation
projects which we were planning to
undertake in the coming year.
In Delhi, we met with Gowsia
Saleem, the daughter of Mr.
Bashaarat Saleem of the Jammu
Jamaat. Gowsia is a dedicated and
sincere young Ahmadi currently
completing her University studies in
Delhi. She is a very intelligent and
capable young woman, eager to help
spread the correct peaceful and tolerant
message of Islam as
propounded by the Lahore
Ahmadiyya Movement. We hope,
inshallah, to work closely with her
in our propagation efforts in India.
Mr. Abdul Hafeez, Mr. Bashaarat
Saleem and other members of the
Lahore Ahmadiyya Jamaat in Jammu
are committed to the mission of the
Jamaat to spread the true peaceful
and tolerant teachings of Islam in
India. To help them in this noble
venture, the USA Jamaat is sending
them 1500 copies of our free literature,
Islam the Religion of Humanity,
The Prophet of Islam and the Message
of Peace, 500 Bayan-ul-Quran and 200
English Holy Quran.
While we were in Delhi, we came
across a newspaper article about a
well-known Muslim women’s rights
advocate fighting for the rights
accorded to Muslim women in Islam
—especially in divorce cases. I found
out that she lived in Lucknow and
managed to contact her by phone. I
informed her about our Islamic
propagation work in India and
offered to help her by supplying her
with literature about Islam. She was
very interested in our work, and
invited us to visit her in Lucknow.
The next morning we flew to Lucknow
and met with both her and
her husband. We had dinner at their
house, and during our discussions,
we agreed to supply her with Bayanul-Quran,
The Urdu translation of
the Holy Quran, and the booklets
Islam the Religion of Humanity, the
Prophet of Islam, and Message of Peace
for free distribution. Inshallah, we
will keep in contact with her to help
her in her efforts to obtain justice for
Muslim women in India.
The next morning we flew to
Chennai and met with the team in
the software company which was in
charge of designing the app for the
English holy Quran. We spent several
days with them reviewing the
progress of the work, and making
sure that the Arabic text of the holy
Quran was properly inserted. Alhamdulillah!
The work is now
complete.
As we had used a new computer
generated typeset of the holy Quran
Arabic text, we decided to have it
reviewed by competent scholars at
Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Egypt for accuracy.
As soon as the text is approved,
the app will be ready for distribution.
We thank Almighty Allah for the
many opportunities He has provided
us to further the cause of Islam in
India, and pray for continuing
advancements in this most important
region.
