organizational development, with a emphasis on leadership. He is a twotime<br />

(2014-15) SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient.<br />

2015 Jelks experienced a disappointing season in his<br />

third year on campus... Projected as the team's<br />

starting left tackle after manning the position in 2014, Jelks suffered a<br />

season-ending leg injury during August drills and never played a snap<br />

during the regular season.<br />

2014 Jelks started all 12 games at left tackle despite playing at less than<br />

full health... Moved from playing right tackle as redshirt freshman to left<br />

tackle where he replaced All-SEC performer Wesley Johnson... Has started<br />

21 consecutive games on the offensive front... Participated in nearly 90<br />

percent of team's offensive snaps, contributing 16 pancake blocks and 14<br />

domination blocks.<br />

2013 Named Freshman All-America OT by Football Writers Association<br />

of America (FWAA) and SEC All-Freshman OL by league's head coaches...<br />

Jelks became a starter along the offensive front as a redshirt freshman...<br />

Participated in 12 games, earning 10 starting assignments, including nine<br />

at right tackle... Commodores registered 7-2 start with Jelks as starter..<br />

First career start came in win at UMass... Registered 41 blocks that led<br />

directly to Commodore first downs or TDs... Also credited with 28<br />

knockdown blocks.<br />

2012 Jelks drew attention from the staff despite redshirting as a true<br />

freshman... Jelks displayed excellent agility and techniques during fall<br />

practices and also added bulk through the weight room.<br />

HIGH SCHOOL Senior captain... Three-year offensive line starter... As<br />

senior left tackle, contributed over 70 pancake blocks as Henry County<br />

went 15-0 and earned first state title in school history... Finalist for 5A<br />

Mr. Football Lineman of the Year as senior... First Team 5A All-State and<br />

named to Tennessean's Dream Team, Dandy Dozen and All-Midstate<br />

squads... Started on varsity hoops team.<br />

ACADEMICS Jelks is expected to complete a degree this year in human<br />

& organizational development degree (leadership emphasis) from the<br />

Peabody College. He is a three-time (2013-15) SEC Academic Honor Roll<br />

recipient.<br />
