The 5K Family Walk Challenge: Step Up for Education takes<br />

place at 8:30 a.m. on February 8, with participants from Country<br />

Hills and Coral Park Elementary Schools. It takes place at North<br />

Community Park in Coral Springs. This event was created to bring<br />

students an awareness of community, fitness, and the need to work<br />

An AARP Driver’s Safety Program will be held from 9 a.m. to 3<br />

p.m. on Saturday, February 14, at Parkland City Hall, 6600<br />

University Drive. It is designed for drivers age 55 and older. It costs $15<br />

for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Participants may receive<br />

Adult Open Lawn Croquet takes place on Wednesday, February<br />

19, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in Pine Tails Park on Field #2. Advance<br />

Dr. Tara Solomon, a gynecologist and promoter of women’s<br />

health, will be the guest speaker at the Parkland Woman’s Club<br />

on Thursday, February 20, at 7 p.m. The location is the C<strong>yp</strong>resshead<br />

Parkland’s first-ever hoedown is scheduled for Friday, February<br />

21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Parkland Equestrian Center, 8350<br />

Ranch Road. Rope tricks, barrel racing, music, and bull riding are<br />

available. This is a free event for Parkland residents, but registration is<br />

required. Space is limited to the first 100 families registering online at<br />

cityof<strong>parkland</strong>.org or at the Parks and Recreation Building at 10561<br />

Trails End.<br />

The Parkland Woman’s Club will present the Great Treasure Sale<br />

on February 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Parkland<br />

Equestrian Center, 8350 Ranch Road. Reserve a spot for $40 and sell<br />

Boomer Impact Day targets Parkland residents born between<br />

1946 and 1964. It will be held on Saturday, February 22, from 9<br />

to 11 a.m. The event will feature a keynote speaker, breakfast, and an<br />

introduction to the volunteer initiative.<br />

Enjoy a performance of dueling pianos at Pine Trails Park<br />

Amphitheater, 10555 Trails End, in Parkland, on February 22<br />

from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Food trucks will arrive at 6 p.m. Bring lawn chairs<br />

and blankets, but no alcohol.<br />

The Humane Society of Broward County presents the annual<br />

Walk for the Animals at Huizenga Plaza in downtown Fort<br />

Lauderdale on Saturday, March 1. Registration takes place at 8 a.m.,<br />

while the 1.25-mile walk (bring your dogs, but no cats) starts at 10 a.m.<br />

and ask your friends and family to join you in reaching the non-profit<br />

organization’s goal of $530,000.<br />

“On the Road: Sotheby’s Appraisal Day at Florida Atlantic<br />
