Restor<strong>in</strong>g the Relationship<br />
Love should not be lavished on those who are<br />
spotless but on those who are abandoned and<br />
undesirable. God is long<strong>in</strong>g to reveal Himself to<br />
the person who has a will<strong>in</strong>g spirit and a heart<br />
that cries out, "I want to know Him!"<br />
Today, if you are search<strong>in</strong>g, but not f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g,<br />
like the <strong>Sam</strong>aritan woman, I want you to know<br />
the greater the need, the greater the measure of<br />
satisfaction. How great is your need today for<br />
Him? God will allow you <strong>in</strong> your desperation to<br />
taste the dryness so you become desperate for<br />
that which is liv<strong>in</strong>g. Today God is wait<strong>in</strong>g to<br />
commune with you. He is the One who is<br />
draw<strong>in</strong>g you to Himself.<br />
Many times we come <strong>in</strong>to the presence of God<br />
so we can tell Him what we need. We are like<br />
the woman who came to Jesus ask<strong>in</strong>g Him to<br />
heal her daughter, who was demon-possessed<br />
(see the story <strong>in</strong> Matt. 15:21-28).<br />
Restor<strong>in</strong>g Relationship With God<br />
Many have taken this story and taught that<br />
it was the woman's faith that made her daughter<br />
well. I believe that is only half the truth. The<br />
process started with her relationship with God.<br />
Once our relationship is right with God, then we<br />
can hold fast to <strong>His</strong> promises.<br />
Let's take a look <strong>in</strong>to this story. First, it's<br />
important to notice this woman was not a Jew<br />
but a Gentile. She had no relationship with the<br />
Master. She came from Canaan to the coast<br />
where Jesus and <strong>His</strong> disciples were stay<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
