2009 

Begin trading as a sole 

proprietorship under 

DB Graphics and Print Solutions 

with one owner and no staff 

members, outsourcing work. 

2012 

JD Printing Enterprises (Pty) Ltd is formed, 

with a silent partner trading as Consortium Signs. 

Consortium Signs moves into its first premises of 

60sqm, purchasing our first large format printer. 

2013 

With a 100% growth rate, Consortium Signs 

expands into new premises, now operating 

from a 120sqm factory. We now offer into other 

kinds of print and signage, and hire six more 

employees. 

2015 

Consortium start exploring more avenues of business, opening 

up a shopfitting division. We upgrade our equipment with more 

larger format printers, CNC routing and many more. We make a 

massive leap, now employing 45 full time staff members! 

OUR TIMELINE 

2010 

DB Graphics employs its first staff member. 

WHERE WE BEGAN... 

2014 

We expand operations yet again, increasing 

our staff base to fourteen and purchasing 

further large format printers. 

2016 

We specialise even further to become one of the 

most innovative full branding solution companies 

in KZN! Consortium Signs JHB is opened and 

further machines are purchased, moving into other 

avenues like Point of Sale and acquiring a flatbed 

printer as well as a flatbed cutter. Our employee 

complement is now at 65.

Recognised as one of the most powerful spaces in our market, mobile advertising gives you brand awareness with massive reach at a minimal cost. 

Vehicle wraps are fully removable and preserve the original paintwork, while our premium cast vinyls guard against chips, abrasions and weathering.

Consortium has the capability and expertise needed to conceptualise, design and create a prototype for your point of sale unit, which we will then 

manufacture and deliver!

WOOD WORK 

We have all the tools required to do any form 

of woodwork including panel saws, routers and 

more. Our workshop is big enough to assemble 

a full project in-house before despatching it, 

which allows us to fix any unforeseen issues 

before items leave our premises. 

PRINT ROOM 

Our print room is mainly designed for signage 

and point of sale specific projects. This includes 

our large format printer, flat bed UV printer, 

digital printers and vinyl plotter. We can print up 

to 3.2 meters wide on a wide range of solvent 

materials. 

FABRICATION 

OUR FACILITIES 

Our fabrication shop produces all signs and 

architectural structures in house using modern 

equipment and veteran sign industry craftsmen. 


SPRAY BOOTH 

We have a well ventilated spray booth of 24 

square meters as well as a curing room with 

infra red heat lamps for quick drying of high 

glass spray paint projects. Our team includes 

a highly skilled spray painter with 12 years 

experience and all the tools required to deliver 

optimum results. 

UPHOLSTERY 

Our upholstery section covers frame making, 

foam cutting and sewing. We can manufacture 

custom bags, sofa’s amd a wide range of 

upholstered items like booth seating for 

restaaurants and more.

SPECIAL PROJECT // ONE 

Décor Land was a great project to work on with their new head 

office in Umhlanga we converted many tired rooms to be 

creative and fun to make the work environment more 

entertaining. 


SPECIAL PROJECT // TWO 

One of our bigger clients we have been dealing with for a number of years. Our relationship has allowed us to move 

forward with large production runs being project managed by the Consortium Signs team. We have rolled out many 

stores with POS items, Signage systems and Shopfitting elements to create a more modern look to great company that 

has been around for staggering 100 years.

SPECIAL PROJECT // THREE 

One of Consortium Signs greatest out the box thinking projects handling all the décor 

for Illovos award winning office based on Umhlanga Ridge, we worked hand in hand with 

Wisdom & Youth on this project to create something spectacular. 





SPECIAL PROJECT // FOUR 

Consortium Signs latest and greatest roll out of a great new 

concept take way/Restaurant store. We have rolled out a 

number of stores stretching far and wide completing and 

turning out a full store set up in less than 2 weeks, it most 

certainly has put us to our limits and we have been happy 

with outcome so far. This is an ever growing brand taking 

the market by storm with many more outlets being opened 

nationally. 





SPECIAL PROJECT // FIVE 

Another exciting project worked on hand in hand with Espresso DBN. Completing a very 

innovative renovation for Nivea with a magnificent finished product. It was exciting, new and 

fresh. We did a complete change out making custom furniture to flooring and custom lighting 

fixtures, there was no holding back on this project. 



SPECIAL PROJECT // SIX 

Yet another exciting project that we worked hand in 

hand on with H&A rolling out over 40 outlets in less 

than 3 months, with full store revamps nationally. 

Everything was produced in house from custom 

furniture, to custom POS items and so much more. The 

outcome was great and the new concept worked well to 

market SAB’s most popular brands.
