A Study in Greyscale - IR Landscapes<br />

IR effect pictures are unusual in appearance<br />
as the digital image is converted to a ‘heat’<br />
image.<br />
Cold areas appear darker then the warm areas<br />
so creating a heat map of the picture. This<br />
should not be confused with thermal imaging<br />
which is also referred to as Far Infrared.<br />
What we see is an interpretation of Near<br />
Infrared. To ‘see’ the picture in this way can<br />
produce some stunning effects.<br />
