1. Getting Started with <strong>Developer</strong><br />

password requirements; however, your server administrator can change these. For more<br />

information about these password requirements, contact your server administrator.<br />

The default password requirements provided by <strong>webMethods</strong> are as follows:<br />

Requirement Default<br />

Minimum length 8<br />

Minimum number of alphabetic characters 3<br />

Minimum number of uppercase characters 2<br />

Minimum number of lowercase characters 2<br />

Minimum number of numeric characters 1<br />

Minimum number of special characters (non-alphabetic and non-numeric<br />

characters, such as *. ?, &)<br />

To ensure the security of your password, follow the additional guidelines below:<br />

� Do not choose obvious passwords, such as your name, address, phone number,<br />

license plate, spouse’s name, child’s name, or a birthday.<br />

� Do not use any word that can be found in the dictionary.<br />

� Do not write your password down.<br />

� Do not share your password with anyone.<br />

� Change your password frequently.<br />

To change your password<br />

1 On the Session menu, click Change Password.<br />

2 In the Change Password dialog box, in the Old Password field, type your current<br />

password.<br />

3 In the New Password field, type your new password.<br />

4 In the Confirm New Password field, retype your new password. Click OK.<br />

Important! The server administrator can disable the feature for changing your password<br />

from <strong>Developer</strong>. If the feature is disabled and you try to change your password, you will<br />

receive a message stating that the administrator has disabled the feature.<br />
