Co-
Co-operative Education, or simply Co-op, is a program which
was initiated in Toronto some time ago. It began at Jarvi s
officially in the 1996-97 school year.
Co-op is a program which allows students to earn outof-school
credit s at work station s where the activities are specifically
designed to 'tie in' with a subject the student is taking
in school (or has recently taken ). There are a wide range of
possible placements. These include work positions related to
accounting, computer programming, chemistry, law, graphic
communications , biology, photograp hy and journalism.
The inaugural year at Jarvis has been a major success .
Stude nts generally enjoy their work placements and is a welcome
change from the confining halls of Jarvis. So get involved!
