AMENITY ACCESS - Stone Gate, Canyon Lakes, Canyon Lakes Village, Canyon Lakes West and Miramesa are in the same homeowner’s
association, S-G Owners Association. All residents are welcome to use the amenities at all locations. To sign up for Stone Gate amenities,
residents of Canyon Lakes West and/or Miramesa must go to the Recreation Center at Stone Gate and show them a copy of their driver’s
license to show proof of residency and then they can register there. The two recreation centers are on different computer systems and in order
to use the Stone Gate amenities, residents must sign up on their system and vice versa. Canyon Lakes West and Miramesa are on the same
computer system, so you only have to sign up at one or the other, not both.

Gates are not in place to provide security, only limited vehicular access.
The $200 fee associated with the HOA Assessment is not just for the
gates. It is for maintaining everything behind the gates such as: streets
sidewalks lights etc. If you witness any suspicious behavior around the
community, please contact the local authorities immediately at the nonemergency
number 713-221-6000.
General Clubhouse Rental Information
Stone Gate, Canyon Lakes West & Miramesa
Rental Fees Are As Follows:
Non-refundable Reservation/Admin fee $50
$20 per hour 2 HOUR MINIMUM
Normal Business Hours: Monday-Saturday 9 AM-5 PM
$40 per hour 2 HOUR MINIMUM
After 5 PM Monday-Saturday and All Day Sundays
Set up, clean up and inspection must be included in event rental time.
A $300 Security/ Deposit is required for every rental. (Security /Deposit
will be returned after the facility has been inspected.)
Rental(s) are booked no later than 2 weeks prior to event;
Rental(s) are booked no more than 3 months out.
CLUBHOUSE:
No more than 60 persons. (Per fire code)
Facility closes at 11:45 PM.
Resident must be present during entire rental period.
No smoking is permitted inside the Facility.
No glitter, confetti, silly string, inks, glue, powder, etc. or products
that could stain or damage any surfaces. No piñatas, no petting zoos,
trackless trains or bouncers.
No alcohol is permitted. *Exception: Alcohol permitted with one (1) law
enforcement officer. Four (4) hour minimum required at special event
rate (Subject to change). Failure to comply will allow the Association to
close the event.
Resident must supply all cleaning supplies and trash bags.
Resident must take home all trash.
5 (6 ft.) portable tables and 25 folded chairs available for use.
Dog Walking Etiquette
Good dog-walking etiquette means picking up the poop after your dog is
finished. This is as simple as taking a plastic grocery bag, turning it inside
out and placing your hand inside and using the bag as a plastic glove,
then turn the bag back out and take the bag with you where you can
dispose of it properly. That’s the courteous thing to do. Don’t get caught
without extra poop bags, particularly if you’re going on a long walk. (P.S.
This is a great way to recycle all those plastic grocery bags!)
Parking in the Streets
Street Parking is only allowed during day hours and only if the driveway
is full. No parking is allowed in the streets overnight. If you see someone
who is in violation, please send a photo of the car parked in the street
with the street address to Mike Graves at mgraves@pmghouston.com.

Residents with a Registered EZ Tag: Enter through far right lane. Gate
House check-in NOT required. (Auto-Gate- DO NOT STOP) Gate Attendant
will open the gate in the event that the EZ Tag barrier arm does not read
your EZ Tag.
Please register your EZ Tag at your clubhouse office. The Onsite Manager
will assign your EZ Tag to the entrance gate in accordance with the
section you reside in (you will not have access to all gates, only the one
for the section you live in).
Residents with an “SG” Decal Sticker (must be displayed on top left
corner of windshield): Enter through middle lane. Gate House check-in
NOT Required. (Gate Attendant will open gate) If you need an “SG” decal
sticker, please visit your local clubhouse office.
Residents without an “SG” Decal Sticker: Enter through far left lane.
Gate House check-in is required. The Gate House Attendant will require
your valid Texas Driver’s License or Texas State ID to verify residency.
Gate Attendant will record name and license plate.
If you are new to the community, show your current Valid Driver’s License
or State Issued Photo ID and give the Gate Attendant your new Stone
Gate/Canyon Lakes West address. Gate Attendant will also record name
and license plate.
Visitors: Enter through far left lane. Gate House check-in is required. The
Gate House Attendant will require you to present a valid Driver’s License
or State ID. Identify name and address of Resident whom you are visiting.
Gate Attendant will record name and license plate and you will be given
entry. *If the Resident has opted to be notified by phone before Visitors
are granted entry, Visitors will only be granted entry if the resident
answers and confirms entry
Contractors: Enter through far left lane. Gate House check-in is required.
The Gate House Attendant will record the following information:
1. Name and address of service provider as well as personnel (valid
driver’s license or state ID)
2. Reason for visit
3. License Plate
If the Resident has opted to be notified by phone before Contractors
are granted entry, Contractors will only be granted entry if the resident
answers and confirms access. Access for contractors is issued on a dayto-day
basis (must follow above procedures for all re-entry)

Rules of the Road for
S-G Owner’s Association
This is a reminder…. The operation of motorized vehicles (ATV’s, dirt
bikes, golf carts, etc.) other than mowing equipment on pathways or
trails maintained by the Association or any other Common Area within
the community is not allowed.
According to the Texas department of public safety:
• ATV’s are not allowed on a street and an operator crossing a street must
have a valid driver’s license.
• Golf carts are allowed on roads, but must obey all traffic laws including
speed limits. (A link is provided below with additional information of
what is required) If operated on a road the golf cart must the driver must
have a valid driver’s license.
• Mopeds and motor assisted scooters are treated as regular bicycles. All
vehicles used on roads must obey traffic laws including stop signs and
speed limits.

17 th season and the Stonegators Board is well under way preparing for

April 10 th -13 th : Guppy school is for all new swimmers to the club and
all 6 and under swimmers. This is to enable the coaches to assess your
swimmer and their abilities.

This year we will also be offering a clinic for our 11+ years old kids to enhance
on our swimmer’s stroke and turn technique. Dates to be confirmed.
PRACTICE
Monday, April 17 th will be our first night of practice for all age groups. Times
to be confirmed. We highly encourage your swimmer to make as many of
the practices we offer as they can. This helps our coaches get to know your
swimmer and their abilities and make them a stronger faster swimmer!

TENNIS COURTS
The Association kindly asks that residents refrain from using the tennis
courts for anything other than playing tennis. Playing basketball, football
and/or other activities can cause damage to the tennis courts making it
unavailable for other residents to use and creating costly repairs.
PICK UP AFTER PETS
Having a pet is both a pleasure and a responsibility. Not only do pet
owners have a responsibility for the care, feeding and general welfare
of their pets, they have a responsibility for proper disposal of pet waste.
Pet waste can be a health hazard. If improperly disposed of, it can
expose humans and other animals to harmful bacteria, viruses and
parasites. If a dog leaves two piles of waste on the ground on a daily
basis, think how much waste accumulates in a week, month or year. Now
imagine all of that waste flowing into the nearby creek during a rainstorm
because of improper disposal. See the problem?
Fertilizer Myth: Contrary to popular belief, carnivorous animals, such
as dogs, do not produce useable manure-fertilizer for plants. Beneficial
manure-fertilizer comes from herbivores like horses and cows. These
animals consume vegetation and return unused waste back to the soil to
be taken up by plants.
Pet Waste & Storm Water: Pet waste left on streets, pavement, yards,
driveways or along the sides of the road does not magically disappear or
fertilize the ground. Improperly disposed animal feces can be picked up by
storm water runoff and carried into storm drains or nearby water sources.
Storm drains do not connect to sanitary sewer systems and treatment
facilities, so pet waste can be the cause of significant storm water pollution
and present health risks to adults, children and other pets.
Pets and children who play in the yards or parks and those who garden in
yards where pets defecate are at risk for infections from disease-causing
viruses, bacteria and parasites found in pet waste.
Dangers of Improperly Handled Pet Waste: Some of the diseases that
can be transmitted from pet waste to humans include: salmonellosis,
toxoplasmosis, campylobacteriosis and fecal coliform bacteria. Nutrients
in pet waste also encourage weed and algae growth, thus causing serious
problems for water quality. This nutrient-rich water is cloudy, green,
unattractive and unhealthy for swimming, boating fishing or drinking.
• Always clean up after your pet, even in your own yard. Your pet’s waste
is NOT fertilizer.
• Bury pet waste in a hole that is at least 6” deep and cover it with soil away
from gardens, ditches, storm drains and waterways. It will decompose
slowly so bury waste in different locations throughout the yard.
• Flush your pet’s waste down the toilet where it will flow through the
sewers for treatment. Don’t flush kitty litter as the litter can clog your
pipes.
• Carry disposable bags with you while you walk your pet.
• Throw your pet’s waste in the trash, tie the bags off so they don’t spill.
• Tell others about the risks of leaving their pet’s waste on the ground,
yard and street.
FRIENDLY REMINDERS

Please be sure to keep all garbage in a proper receptacle with a
securable lid to prevent pets and/or wind from creating a mess in our
community. Trash cans must also be kept sanitary and out of public/
street view in-between trash pickup days. Residents are permitted to
set their trashcan(s) out after 6 PM the evening before their respective
trash pickup days, but they must be out of public/street view the same
day of pickup. The Association would also like to remind residents not to
litter. Please join our efforts in keeping Stone Gate, Canyon Lakes West
and Miramesa a beautiful place to live by disposing of your trash in the
proper waste receptacles.
AMENITIES
Stone Gate, Canyon Lakes West and Miramesa share amenities. All
residents are welcome to utilize all amenities. The finger reader is for
Canyon Lakes West and Miramesa amenities ONLY. Stone Gate will
continue to have access card readers. As a reminder, all guests MUST BE
ACCOMPANIED by a RESIDENT (18 or older) to use the facilities.

BEWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS
Remember, we do live in a big city. We have all the elements here and
we have people looking to take advantage of people they perceive as
victims. If a crime is going to occur, the offender must have three things
to accomplish the task: desire, ability and opportunity. Personally, there
is not much that you can do about the offender’s desire and ability.
However, you can take steps to control the offender’s opportunity.
• BE AWARE of your surroundings! Giving the appearance of not paying
attention and not being alert is what offenders look for in a victim. Turn
off your ipod/headphones or cell phone to reduce your risk of being a
crime victim.
• You should never walk alone! However, if you must walk alone, have a
plan and choose open well lighted and well traveled areas.
• When walking you should walk facing traffic. Do not read while walking
or standing on the street. Be cautious of drivers that stop to talk to you or
are not paying attention to the road.
• Avoid being on the street alone if you are upset or distracted.
• Always tell someone where you’ll be and what time you are going to
return.
• If you think you are being followed: cross the street, change directions,
keep looking back so the person knows you can’t be surprised. Look for a
crowded area and move quickly.
• TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS: If something “feels wrong”, something
probably is wrong.
• If you find yourself in a situation with an assailant, don’t be afraid to
loudly call attention to what the assailant is doing (“Help!” “Fire!” “Get
your hands off me!” “This stranger is bothering me...”, etc.).
• Report suspicious persons to the police immediately!
• Keep emergency numbers near your phone.
• Do not leave messages on your door or voice mail, etc., indicating you
are away or when you will return.
• Be cautious of telephone surveys and NEVER... give out any personal
information.
• Do not prop open doors or gates. This will put everyone at risk.
• Always LOCK your doors, garage and windows.
• Keep access cards, keys and remotes in a safe place. Do not leave them
lying out in the open. Never leave them on a table or shelf near your door.
It takes less than 10 seconds to look into your open door and steal items
from a table or shelf near the door.

DEED RESTRICTION REMINDERS
DOGS: Please remember barking can be a nuisance to your neighbors. Do
your best to be respectful of the noise level on your property. Pets must
be kept on a leash when walking and don’t forget pick up after them.
LOUD NOISE/MUSIC: Domestic neighbor noise, such as DIY work or loud
music, is the most common cause of noise complaint. It is advisable to
take steps to resolve the problem yourself before filing a complaint with
the management company, such as speaking face-to-face or writing a
letter to your neighbor to explain how you are affected. If you have been
unable or not felt comfortable with resolving a problem with domestic
neighbor noise, please call Top Gun at 281-905-2522 or 713-907-2744, so
they may ask your neighbor to lower the noise.
TRASH: As a friendly reminder trash days are on Mondays and Thursdays
for Stone Gate and Wednesdays and Saturdays for Canyon Lakes West.
TREES: Dead trees and/or missing trees are a violation of your deed
restrictions. If tree stakes are not attached to the tree or if the ties are
an inch or two into the tree - they need to be removed. Thank you for

FISHING IN THE LAKES: Not permitted at any time. Please refrain from

REMINDER ABOUT EZ TAG
FOR GATE ACCESS
Please remember that you MUST be a resident of the community to
register your EZ Tag for gate access. Homeowners are welcome to
purchase a gate access card at $5 each for any friends, relatives or
workers who do not reside in the community. As a reminder, cards may
only be purchased with a check or money order. We sincerely thank you
for your cooperation.
PETS
Stone Gate Community has had many loose dogs & cats lately. Please
do your part to keep your animals safe and contained on your property.
Please Control Your Pets!
It is a deed restriction violation if your pets are not confined to a fenced
backyard or within your home. They must not be allowed to bark all
night or cause a nuisance to your neighbors. They must also be on a
leash at all times when not in a contained environment. It is also the pet
owner’s responsibility to keep ALL areas of the community FREE from pet
debris when walking your pets. Please remember that cats must also be
confined. Animal Control can be reached at 281-999-3191.
We are in the process of replacing all old hydraulic gate openers with
new mechanical gate openers. The new mechanical gate openers are
stronger, more reliable and are able to handle the weight of the gate.
We are also installing new call boxes at the same time as we are putting
in the new mechanical gate openers. You may see some street boring or
cutting of the concrete to lay new lines for the system.
Below we have provided after-hours contact numbers for you to report
any suspicious activity. You may share this information with other
homeowners. We believe the responsible use of the information is an
important part of meeting your needs and provide consistent service.

GATE UPDATE AND TOP GUN SECURITY
Dear Homeowner:
Customer privacy and security have never been more important. We
want to give you an update on the gates and cameras and after-hours
phone numbers to Top Gun Security.
Currently we have over 120 cameras up and running. We fixed the
cameras first to determine who was responsible for damaging the gates
by pushing them open with their vehicles. Any vehicle caught on camera
damaging the gates will be responsible for all damages to the gate and
gate opener.
PARKING IN THE STREETS
Homeowners please be aware S-G Owners Association has a Parking
Policy for the community. PMG Houston will continue to enforce the
Rules for the policy as they complete inspections or the violation is
reported to them. If a vehicle is parked in violation the POA has the right
to fine per incident after a warning notice, fines start at $50 and go up to
$100 per violation, every 11 days it is reported. Also, in the gated sections
of the community, the POA has the right to tow the vehicle at the vehicle
owner’s expense. If you have extenuating circumstances and need to
park on the street, please send a written detailed request to the Mike
Graves. This will be reviewed by the Board at the next available Board
Meeting.
Parking is only allowed in the street during daylight hours only when the
driveway can hold no additional vehicles. This includes, but not limited
to; residents, guests/visitors, caregivers, home health care providers
and domestic help vehicles. Vehicles that are excluded are vehicles
that are providing a routine service to the home, for example, marked
construction workers, landscapers, plumbers or any other commercial
visitor vehicle that is marked for commercial use. Also, excluded is official
law enforcement/emergency vehicles.
If a vehicle is parked in violation please provide a photo of the vehicle
in question and the driveway showing space available, the property
address and the date and time of the violation to the Property Manager,
Mike Graves, at mgraves@pmghouston.com.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE
Assist the community in creating, implementing and supporting events
and activities. These events include, “Egg”stravaganza, Ladies Brunch &
Trunk Show, Cookies with Santa and more!
LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE
The primary role is to support a social club for landscaping ideas, also
known as the Garden Club. They are responsible for inviting horticulture
guest speakers for community events and sharing a general interest in
landscaping. They also assist with the Holiday Decoration Yard Contest.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
To assist the community in creating, implementing and supporting
communication efforts including the newsletter, intranet and section
leaders and block captains. They also assist with the Holiday Decoration
Yard Contest.
TRAFFIC/SAFETY COMMITTEE
Assists with safety and awareness within the community, making
recommendations to the Board for placement of stop signs and speed
humps.
ADOPT A SCHOOL COMMITTEE
Provides recommendations to the Board of Directors for the donation of
AAS funds to the schools within that community for educational school
items, such as computers, library books, etc. These funds also may be
allotted for enhancements within the community such as sidewalks,
playground areas or other improvements that will benefit the students
of the community.

CFISD Mentor Program
The CFISD Mentor Program is a cooperative effort of volunteers from
businesses, faith-based and/or non-profit organizations, the community
and the school district designed to encourage students (elementary
through high school) to finish school and focus on future education and
career goals. A mentor is a suitable role model committed to helping a
student with his/her academic and social development. Mentors meet
with students one-on-one for approximately 30 minutes each week.
Currently, over 600 mentors are matched with students.
To become a mentor, you must attend a training session (REGISTER),
complete a global volunteer/mentor application and consent to a criminal
history record check. Training Sessions - Registration is REQUIRED.

Texas Christian Alumni - Star Student & Star Athlete
Texas Christian School Class of 2016, Michael Johnson received a full ride scholarship to Chadron State University where he is a star athlete and student.
Due to his dedication and skill, Michael was named the Eagle of the Week for Chadron State. Chadron wrote that “Johnson had his first career doubledouble
in an Eagle win during Christmas break. The freshman was the key to victory down the stretch, grabbing several defensive rebounds and following
up with free throws to finish with 18 points and 13 rebounds, which were both highs for either team in the game. In the final three minutes, Johnson had
seven of the Eagles’ final 15 points, adding four critical rebounds and one steal during that span.” Texas Christian is proud of the student athlete Michael

2017-2018 Registration
St. Cuthbert Episcopal School’s 2017-2018 registration will begin on
Tuesday, February 7 th at 8 AM and will continue each day during school
hours until all of our classes are filled. We offer 2, 3 or 5 day classes,
including a Bridge/Kindergarten class. St. Cuthbert School enrolls
students ages 18 months through 5 years. School hours are Monday-
Thursday, 9 AM to 2 PM and Friday, 9 AM to 12 noon.
Our Bridge/Kindergarten program is designed for children who are
not quite ready for kindergarten. This class allows children to succeed
at learning with greater ease and confidence, by helping them bridge
academic and developmental gaps. The St. Cuthbert School program
provides a loving, Christian environment offering the children weekly
chapel, as well as music and movement, library and computer classes.
Our curriculum includes Handwriting without Tears, Reading A-Z, Math
and Science.

Registers for 30th Anniversary Season
The Northwest Flyers Youth Track Club will celebrate its 30 th Anniversary
Season by hosting its annual free Registration/Orientation breakfast on
Saturday, February 4, 2017, for all boys and girls who are interested in
joining for the 2017 track season. The breakfast starts promptly at 8:30
AM at the Cypress Creek Christian Community Center Forum located at
6823 Cypresswood Dr., Spring, TX, 77379. The event is an opportunity for
youth athletes to register for the 2017 spring/summer track season and
to meet the Northwest Flyers coaches, staff and other new and returning
athletes. The event will be highlighted by a special presentation from
a member of the USA Track &Field Olympic organization (USATF). All
athletes and parents who wish to join the Northwest Flyers must attend
the orientation.
The Northwest Flyers Track Club is a youth (ages 6 -18) track club,
affiliated with USA Track & Field (USATF), that provides a full program
of sanctioned “track” events such as sprints, hurdles, middle distance,

triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, discus and javelin.

Registration for Fun, Fair, Positive Soccer (FFPS) is open for boys and girls
ages 4 to 18 for the SPRING Season. Games start on April 8, 2017. FFPS
is a non-profit youth soccer program dedicated to providing a positive
youth sports experience for all children. Founded in 1986 in Katy, Texas,
FFPS has grown to 22 leagues and 16,000 players throughout the Greater
Houston area. FFPS offers children a fun and fair experience, including
one practice per week, a full uniform and trophy for every player, equal
playing time and play every position, co-ed/balanced teams, positive
coaching and more. No tryouts are required.

Copper Creek Meadows Community
Girl Scouts Of San Jacinto Council
Our Community holiday service project for Cypress Assistance Ministries
provided over 70 baking baskets, 150 handmade holiday cards and 12
bags of gently used toys, 6 bags of new toys and stocking stuffers and
5 bags of candy to some of our less fortunate neighbors. Junior troop
16465 collected items for Operation Christmas ShoeBox. They also
collected and delivered donated items for the library and craft room at
Texas Children’s Hospital. Brownie troop 113042 continued the Girl Scout
tradition of making new friends when they visited Park Manor at Cy-Fair.
The girls made Christmas ornaments and played bingo with the nursing
home residents.
The annual Girl Scout Cookie sale began on February 7 th . We are
celebrating 100 years of cookie sales in 2017. Way back in 1917, Girl
Scouts of the Mistletoe troop in Muskogee, Oklahoma, baked and
sold cookies to support service projects in the first known cookie sale.
Cookie sales today fund individual troop activities, as well as supporting
Council camps and programs. Girl Scouts who sell Girl Scout Cookies
are also developing the 5 skills of: goal setting, decision making, money
management, people skills and business ethics. These are skills that
will last a life time and lead to future success. Don’t miss trying our new
S’mores cookie! It starts with a crispy graham cookie which is double
dipped in crème icing and a chocolatey coating. Yummy! Of course, so
are all the OTHER great cookies!

February 22 nd is World Thinking Day, when we celebrate the birthdays
of Lord and Lady Baden Powell and think of the international Scouting
movement. At our Thinking Day event, troops will represent different
countries, with food, activities, games, costumes and more. Ireland,
Madagascar, Australia, Vietnam and Japan are already stops on this
world tour! Troops will also be bringing their donations of coins for the
Juliette Low World Friendship Fund.

Girl Scouts are busy, active girls. Girl Scouts builds girls of courage,
confidence and character who make the world a better place. Girl
Scouting is open to all girls ages 5 (must be in kindergarten) through 18
who are willing to accept the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Girls may join

Scouting provides youth with a sense that they are important as
individuals while promoting activities that lead to personal responsibility
and high self-esteem. As a result, when hard decisions have to be made,

Scouting provides a rewarding experience for boys ages 5 to 21. Scouting
through the local Packs and Troops teach outdoor and life skills which
help our youth Be Prepared. Your area is serviced by the BSA Sam
Houston Area Counsel - Copperhead District which includes 23 Cub Scout
Packs (boys 5 to 10 years old), 13 Troops (boys from 11 to 18 years old)
and 10 Venturing units (boys and girls from 14 to 21). Our Units typically
meet weekly.
Many of our units are supported by the local Elementary Schools
including: Birkes, Copeland, Duryea, Fiest, Hemmingway, Holmsley,
Horne, Jowell, Lowery, Metcalf, Owens, Postma, Robinson, Sheridan,
Tipps, Walker and Wilson. Other Community groups include: Autumn
Creek Baptist Church, Beck and Masten Automotive, Cornerstone United
Methodist Church, Copperfield Church, Crossbridge Church, Cy-Fair
Kiwanis Club, Deerfield Village HOA, LDS Bear Creek and Copperfield

Boy Scout Troop 61
Young men between the ages of 11-18 are encouraged to visit Boy
Scout Troop 61 at 7:00 PM Wednesday nights at Peace Community
Church, 5151 Addicks Satsuma Road, Houston, Texas, 77084. They will
get a hands-on experience of what Scouting has to offer and have the
opportunity to visit with the Scouts and their adult leaders to learn more
about the things the troop has done during meetings and activities.
Scouting activities include camping, fishing, archery, rifle/shotgun
shooting, hiking, first aid, wilderness survival, community service,
citizenship, swimming, leadership, white-water rafting and much more.
Troop 61 camps each month and has a group that goes to High Adventure
