deception ("You … do not know that you are
wretched"); and (d) denominational assumptions of
success which are not divinely validated ("You are
miserable, poor, blind, and naked").
The remedies proposed are specific: "gold
refined in the fire," "white garments," and "eye
salve." Upon the minds of church leadership there
will be deeply impressed as never before in history
a sense of our true role on the stage of the universe.
"The house of David" will be deeply humbled by a
new view of the crucifixion of Christ and their part
in it, and then there will be "opened" that "fountain
... for sin and for uncleanness" (Zechariah 12:10;
13:1).
