Join us on Friday 24th March 7pm - 10pm in Bernie’s Deli Cafe in Bridge of Weir, to drink wine with friends, restock your wardrobe and support a great cause. Tickets are £10, this includes a glass of wine on arrival and nibbles. In addition to the clothes, there will be jewellery from Stella and Dot, and an introduction to Lose it and Love it, plus a raffle with very generous prizes donated by local businesses. Please attend this event and support 5 Bridge of Weir mums who are raising funds for Women V Cancer through the work of three charities; Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust; and Ovarian Cancer Action. All money raised will go directly to the charities. It’s that fabulous time of year when we begin preparations for the RAMH Annual Dinner & Quiz - this year hosted by the wonderful broadcaster & writer Vanessa Collingridge, with headline sponsors University of the West of Scotland. It’s on Friday 19th May at the Normandy Hotel Renfrew and guests will enjoy a fizz reception, 3 course meal with coffee and 8 rounds of celeb-hosted quiz. Teams of maximum 10 people will compete to win the much coveted RAMH Quiz Trophy, sponsored by Linstone Housing. And the best bit is that we are aiming to raise £15,000, all for local mental health services. Tickets are just £29.95 each with our early bird discount; book before Friday March 10th and save £50 per table. Bookings after this date will be charged at £35 per person. Finding Your Feet is a registered Scottish charity who support people affected by amputation and limb difference. This annual fundraising event will be a celebration of Finding Your Feet’s very own ‘Super Humans’ hosted by John Beattie. Local businesswoman and quadruple amputee ‘Super Human’ Corinne Hutton, the charity’s Patron said “I am so proud of how much Finding Your Feet has achieved in its first three years. Through the funding and donations we receive we are able to offer amputees and people with limb difference a wide range of support. Last year we launched accessible clubs including skiing, climbing, swimming, cycling and football. We see long term amputees, who haven’t pushed themselves in many years, doing some tough and exciting and sometimes hilarious challenges for the first time. In doing so, they are finding themselves and their confidence again; it’s really quite humbling. In addition to sporting initiatives we also host a twice-monthly drop-in club at our office for our members to get together and benefit from guest visitors who provide information and advice. Our latest initiative is our ‘Foot Patrol’ where volunteers go out to visit those not able to, or ready to meet in a group environment, often this includes those still recovering in hospital.
