1958 - 1965
At the beginning of 1958, our founder, Mr. Edgar Perez Jimenez, opens EL PALACIO DEL FUMADOR at
el Downtown Caracas, a store dedicated to the sale of very high quality articles for smokers and exclusive
gifts for men: cigars, cigarettes, leather articles, pen and ballpoints including brands such as DuPont, Parker,
Sheafer, Ronson-Dupont, Dunhill, and Collibri Lighters, amongst other.
As pioneers in this particular market segment, during its first 7 years, EL PALACIO DEL FUMADOR, opened 6
stores exclusively representing brands nationwide. From this accomplishment El Palacio Del Fumador, C.A.
is founded as a Wholesale Distributor.
Years later, El Palacio del Fumador, C.A. and “Exclusivas Internacionales”, the competition, merge to supply
between both companies 80% of the Venezuelan Market. In this way, a new company Diproca, C.A.
(Distribuidora de Productos de Calidad, C.A.) is constituted, achieving almost total dominion of this market
segment in Venezuela.
1970 - 1996
During these years, EL PALACIO DEL FUMADOR changes its image to a more luxurious concept. REGALOS
PRESTIGE, stores which specialized in commercialization of luxury products including watches and leather
goods with prestigious brands such as: CARTIER, LANCEL, CELINE, HERMES, BREITLING, CHOPPARD,
CHAUMET, amongst others.
The Company had also been given the task of re-positioning the brands of a famous Swiss Group in
Venezuela.
2004
Given the situation in Venezuela, where the Company has worked for many years, and foreseeing
complications with the Socialist Government and its reforms, it has been decided to open operations in
Miami, USA. Here was founded MIDAS Investments, LLC. and WORLDS BEST BRANDS, LLC., this last
company dedicated to the commercialization and distribution trajectory with watches, jewelry, bijoux,etc.
2015
With more than a quarter century in the distribution and commercialization business, we have had the
privilege of working with some of the most prestigious and world renown watch and jewelry brands in the
market. Together, our presidents and Company Family are convinced that the experience provided with
our most qualified team of professionals, will guarantee success while opening and operating in American
