distress calls. Typically they turn on their
loud sirens to help mitigate traffic until
they arrive to their destinations. Each day
noise pollution affects millions of Americans.
Individuals widely exposed to high
levels of loud sounds are typically more
stressed and unhealthy. Unwanted
sounds in our environment also make us
less productive. In some scenarios,
long-term exposure to noise pollution
leads to noise-induced hearing loss.
Are trains noise pollution and making us go deaf?
E-Logs Technology plans to solve noise pollution with sustainable methods. For
instance, train activity near residential properties makes a lot of unwanted
racket. Train horns produce an excruciating noise, this in turn constantly discomforts
homeowners and devalues their properties.
E-Logs Technology is in the process of redesigning railroad crossings in an effort
to reduce noise pollution. E-Logs proposes adding small speakers that beep
around railroad crossings and/or similar to those near street crossings. These
speakers will operate in the frequency range of 2000 - 5000 Hz, which are the
frequencies humans are most sensitive to. Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I) technology
will also activate this warning notification within the vehicle. Doing so eliminates
the need for a disruptive train horn. E-Logs plans to eradicate noise pollution
with the implementation of these new methods. Although, these effects are
quite serious, very few governmental entities address the issue. We are excited
to bring about quieter and more peaceful days and nights for everyone.
