Itinerary
Day 1: Rome Meet & greet with transfer to
your hotel. Afternoon at leisure. Welcome dinner
and introduction by your tour director. B
Day 2: Rome After breakfast enjoy a
panoramic tour of Ancient Rome and an inside
visit of the Vatican Museums, Michelangelo's
Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica. Afternoon
at leisure. In the evening an Optional Rome-by-
Night excursion ($). B
Day 3: Rome • Florence At 7:30 am we
depart by motor coach to Florence. Upon arrival
we enjoy a walking tour of the city. Lunch in a
local restaurant. Overnight in Florence. L
Day 4: Florence • Cinque Terre After
breakfast we depart for Cinque Terre, comprised
of five wonderful small villages on the Italian
Riviera. We will visit and travel on the Cinque
Terre train which connects all the five towns.
Afternoon return to Florence. Evening at leisure.

Day 5: Florence • Venice After breakfast
depart for Venice. Upon arrival enjoy a guided
tour of this unique and romantic city. Overnight.

Day 6: Venice • Verona • Lake Garda
• Siena Our first stop today will be the
romantic city of Verona where we visit the
Roman Theatre and Juliet’s balcony. We
continue on to Lake Garda, the largest lake
in Italy, where we visit the charming town of
Sirmione. Free time for lunch (on own) and then
we continue our journey to Siena in Tuscany. B
Day 7: Siena • San Gimignano • Rome
Today we discover the highlights of this
medieval city: We walk through the centre to
visit the Duomo (outside), the magnificent
square (Il Campo) where twice yearly “Palio”
horse race takes place. We later depart for the
walled medieval hillside town of San Gimignano
still conserving fourteen of its' medieval towers.
We stop for a light lunch and a Chianti winetasting
at a local winery. We continue to Rome
for dinner and overnight. B WT D
Day 8: Rome • Pompeii • Sorrento After
breakfast we will travel to the Sorrentine
Peninsula. We visit a cameo factory before
arriving in Pompeii where we will tour the
excavations of this ancient Roman city with a
local guide. Afterwards we head to Sorrento for
dinner and overnight. B D
Day 9: Sorrento • Capri • Sorrento
This morning we cross over to the Isle of Capri
where we take the cable car to “La Piazzetta”. Day
at leisure to explore the island. Return to Sorrento
where we stop to taste the regional lemon liqueur
- Limoncello. Dinner and overnight. B D
Day 10: Sorrento • Matera •
Alberobello Today we transfer to the
region of Apulia (Puglia in Italian) on the east
coast. Our first stop is Matera, famous for the
"Sassi"; prehistoric cave dwellings dating back
to 7,000 B.C. and today a UNESCO World
Heritage Site. After our visit we continue to
Alberobello with its unique “trulli” buildings and
also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Dinner and
overnight. B D
Day 11: Alberobello • Lecce • Ostuni
• Alberobello This morning we depart
for Lecce the Baroque city of Apulia and an
ancient settlement dating back to the 15th
century B.C. We will meet our local guide for a
walking tour of the centre. After lunch (on own)
we continue to the town of Ostuni, perched
on a hilltop overlooking the Adriatic Sea. This
town also dates back to 1000 B.C. We return to
Alberobello for dinner and overnight. B D
Day 12: Alberobello • Martina Franca •
Amalfi Coast Before departing Alberobello,
we visit the villa of 1,000 Trulli; round white
structures with tall conical roofs. We stop for
a wine tasting and a light lunch at a local farm
near Alberobello. We also visit the beautiful
old Baroque town of Martina Franca. In the
late afternoon we travel to the Amalfi Coast
via the magnificent “Amalfi drive”. Dinner and

Day 13: Amalfi Coast • Rome Morning at
leisure and we depart for Rome before noon.
