A Brief History of Development
• 2009 year -1 st quarter 2010 – Carrying out
fundamental research work to improve
lightfastness of titanium dioxide: hundreds
of tests were done, 35 versions of
propotype of TiOx-350 grade were
developed (Series 1/Versions from 13 up
to 47+), the research work for alternative
approaches was done (Series 2 and
Series 3)
A Brief History of Development
A Brief History of Development
• In April 2010 XXXXX Company carried out
testing of the samples of prototype of
Crimea TiOx-350 (Samples of Series
1/Versions 44+, 47+): the lightfastness
rating of 5 on Blue Wool Scale was
achieved, when standard TiOx-220 sample
showed rating of 4-5
A Brief History of Development
• From May 2010 till April 2011 – further
course of fundamental research work to
improve lightfastness of titanium dioxide:
hundreds of tests were done, 31 versions
of propotype of TiOx-350 grade were
developed (Series 1/Versions 48 and 49+,
Series 2/Versions 1 to 29)
A Brief History of Development
• In June 2011 XXXXX Company carried out
testing of the samples of prototype of Crimea
TiOx-350 (Samples of Series 1/Versions 49+,
Series2/Version 23+): the lightfastness rating of
6-7 and 7 on Blue Wool Scale was achieved,
that fully answers the purpose to get
lightfastness rating of more than 6). Besides the
samples had increased brightness and reduced
yellowness in comparison with standard TiOx-
220 grade
A Brief History of Development
• During July – December 2011 Crimea Titan did a repeated release of lab
prototypes of TiOx-350 (Samples of Series 1/Versions 49+, Series2/Version
23+), and also release of sample of Series 3/Version 150+.
• In February 2012 XXXXX Company carried out testing of the samples of
prototype of Crimea TiOx-350 (Samples of Series 1/Versions 49+,
Series2/Version 23+, Series 3/Version 150+):
– For the samples of Series 1/Versions 49+, Series2/Version 23+, the lightfastness
rating of about 7 on Blue Wool Scale was achieved that repeated previous result
(in June, 2011).
– The sample of Series 3/Version 150+ didn’t achieve the lightfastness rating of 6
on Blue Wool Scale however had higher brightness and lower yellowness
