Art Show
The Greater Philadelphia community came together with the OSB community for a grand and dazzling on campus art show.
Professional artists who have shown and sold their work in Center City and other area galleries, as well as accomplished staff and
student artists, displayed their work (oil paintings, watercolors, photography, sculptures, and multimedia pieces), much of it bought on
the spot by appreciative guests. Part of the proceeds from the sales and in some cases all of the proceeds were donated to the school.
Graduation
A very large graduating class and two honored alumni were among the special aspects of this year’s commencement ceremony. Of
greater import than numbers, however, was the lifetime accomplishments of Joanne Malatesta Davidoff (class of 1950), a champion
of braille literacy who taught at our school for more than 24 years, and Louis Quay (1966), a world traveler and International Trade
Specialist who worked for the U.S. Commerce Department. (For a sampling of the accomplishments of this year’s graduates, please see

Golf Outing
Overbrook’s first annual golf tournament, co-sponsored by P.E.R.C., OSB’s parent organization, raised more than $15,000 for our
school. Major corporate sponsors included Cooke & Bieler, Bridge View Paper Company, and Powers Craft Parker and Beard,
Inc., whose foursome took first place on the welcoming and challenging Westover Country Club course.
