I’ll be honest, when I first decided to feature Justin Edwards as this month’
wasn’t sure exactly how it was going pan out. Some of you may be asking y
same question I asked. “What? Do you mean the baseball, model, fitness g
normally visualize musicians belonging in a group with sports players, heal
tors, or models, but then that is our shortcoming, not Justin’s. He seems to
easily blending each of these identities into a remarkable individual.
We will claim Justin as a hometown boy even though he was raised in Muld
acquired a certain amount of celebrity succeeding in multiple high school s
tinued his love of playing baseball throughout his college years, but always
. It took him awhile to finally realize, simply put, that music is his “happy place”.
to teach himself guitar, started seriously working on his singing, and started stud
mal step, in this process, would be to launch a garage band playing covers and slo
well and getting gigs. Did I say “normal”? This guy is anystin’s
next step was to travel the country performing in live
ns. Seriously, live theater? Anyone who knows live theater
l by fire. To be thrown into a situation that requires such
nd accuracy, every performance, while still basically a novither
break one or make one get very good, very quickly.
ility to adapt and respond was up to the test and the theato
play shows in California, New York, Louisiana, Las Vewas
a great way to become an accomplished musician
rection and play the assigned music in the style required by
the show, but it didn’t leave any room for originality. It is that element of
innovative style and sound that first attracted him to artists such as Roy
Orbison, Waylon Jennings, George Straight, Garth Brooks and Elvis Presley.
Justin’s band still plays the covers that everyone loves, but now back in his
hometown area, he also has the freedom to write his own songs, played in
the style of his choosing. “How great would it be to have your own material
become as familiar as some of the classics?” So, music has become his
passion and while fame and financial success in music is a long, rough
road, he would be satisfied and happy if he could just make a living doing
til that time, he says he will continue to take modeling gigs, such as the ones he h
atalogs, and clothing lines. He has also seen success in television commercials, ac
fitness training.
So, this great-looking, obviously multi-talented guy has t
jerk, right? No, he is very quick to acknowledge the peop
him along the way.
