Their children were: Nancy, Eliza Ann, John Andrew,<br />

Peter Pleasant, Chas. Lewis, Mildred J, Florence W.<br />

James Harve all born in Mercer Co.,MO from 1849-1869.<br />

IL; & Martha b. ca1874 KS. This family moved to<br />

Greenwood/Howard (Elk aft. 1875) Co.,KS during the<br />

homesteaded in Greenwood Co. in 1872. Children of<br />

George and Charlotte Flint Mock came to Greenwood<br />

Co,KS to live with their Uncle Francis after the death of<br />

Moses Mock in. Jane Williams Rowan Co,NC 14 Mar<br />

1818 (marr. bond 08502315). The 1830/40 Davidson Co.<br />

NC Census listing for Moses/ Jane Mock shows possibly<br />

5 or 6 sons and 1 dau. Family info & census extractions<br />

indicate that David W. b. ca1822; Lucinda B. ca1822;<br />

Francis A. b. cal 823; Moses; George b. cal&30; & Isaiah<br />

b. cal 835 were siblings all b. in NC and that Jane Mock<br />

was their mother. Were they children of Moses Mock &<br />

Jane Williams? Moses (1799-??) was probably the son of<br />

Philip (1752-1821) and Mary Magdalene Mock and<br />

probably died bet. 1835-1840. Jane Williams (1799-??)<br />

was the dau. of Francis Williams and prob. d. in<br />

Franklin Co,IL bet. 1860 & 1870. Need records and<br />

information on these families.<br />

Henry Mock was born in 1760 in Rhein-Pfalz Bavaria.<br />

He lived with his wife, Elizabeth in the farming<br />

community of Hochspier, which is located just east of<br />

Kaiserlautern and about 35 miles west of Heidelberg.<br />

Do you have any suggestions as to where I could write<br />

to obtain some more info? I enjoyed the diary contained<br />

in your last newsletter...<br />

John Nelson Mock, married to Sarah Alcoke, died 19<br />

Mar 1901 probably in IL. Their children were: Lucy<br />

(Pullman), Min (Gallaway), Della (Monical) b. 1855<br />

Paris, IL, Julia (Hagman), Bessy (Drake) & Ellswarth<br />

(Elizie??). Need parents of John Nelson. lust noticed a<br />

John Nelson Mock on p.27, VoI I, #3, Jan. 1992 - but<br />

married to another woman!!<br />

I am looking for the family of William Polk Mauck,<br />

in Mississippi 1847. He moved to Indian Territory and<br />

died 1910 Nowata, OK. He was married to Sarah Emma<br />

High, a Cherokee woman. They were my g.<br />

grandparents.<br />

While filing away loose notes and copies (I should<br />

Finish by 2000!), and rereading the "M" section from the<br />

1 994 book Pennsylvania Births - Philadelphia County, ,<br />

by I lumphrey, I discovered the Following entries from<br />

"Records of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in<br />

Germantown'':<br />

1. Mack Theobald b. 30 Oct 1749 to parents, Johannes<br />

and Maria Agnes.<br />

2. Mak, Joh. Philipp b. 14 Jan 1753 to parents, Johans<br />

and Maria Agnesa.<br />

In the MFH Vol. 1, #5,pg 44-45, an article and<br />

Family Chart for Philip Mack states Philip's birth as 27<br />

Oct 1752, PA (?).<br />

It would appear that the first wife of John Mack (he<br />

died in Reading, Berks Co.,PA) is this Maria Agnes,<br />

mother of Theobald/Devalt and Phillip Mack/Mock .<br />

This still does not explain the older Devalt Mock in the<br />

North Carolina records, but it does further identify the<br />
