Laboratories ME FZ LLC (UL) is a U.S based
and an independent safety science company

The UL Middle East Electrical laboratory is the
first industrial lab in the region and is backed
by the expertise of UL over 100 years in the
business of promoting safe living and working
environments. Our various programs including
the UL Certification Mark, IEC Type Test
Examination certificates, Verification testing,
are widely accepted in the region by major
regulators such as ADDC.
Among many other products in the Power
Distribution sector, this laboratory has been
particularly wired to cater to the various types
of LOW VOLTAGE Switchgear panels,
assemblies and Busways represented by the
IEC 61439 and equivalent UL family of
standards. UL has recognized the need of a
local qualified lab and have now built a state of
the art facility for testing , verification &
certification of products.

The first phase of the UL Middle East Lab has
incorporated the principles of Lean Sigma and
is laid out in clear Zones signifying the class of
testing. It offers safety, performance and
reliability testing services, training through
knowledge transfer for the local economies
from UL's global experts, research in Electrical
safety as well as tailored testing and inspection
solutions.
The HEAT ZONE is the region’s and one of the
world’s largest temperature rise test facility
with current capacity up to 20000A /@50 and
60Hz and elevated controlled ambient of 70
deg. C in a room of 100 sq. m in area at a height
of 5m This is fully automated and remotely
accessible.
The ENVIRONMENTAL zone offers multiple
mechanical tests for ordinary & Hazardous
location assemblies and environmental tests
for extreme corrosion, damp heat, humidity,
UV and thermal stability
The DUST zone consists of one the world’s
largest chambers for Ingress Protection testing
up to IP X6 at a volume of 35 cubic meters
The AQUA zone Water test designed to cater to
IP for IEC standards as well as TYPE ratings
for NEMA/UL standards. The rotating table
can be inclined and bear a load up to 4 tones
The INSULATING MATERIALS LAB Zone
tests as per the widely accepted IEC Glow wire
and UL94 standards
Finally the High Voltage and impulse voltage
test capabilities cover a wide range of AC and
DC voltage ratings
