This seminar focuses on development of careers in
jazz for young musicians. It features members of
two high profile young bands, Jam Experiment and
the Alexandra Ridout Quintet, both bands featuring
winners of the prestigious BBC Young Jazz Musician of
the Year Award - Alexander Bone (2014), and Alexandra
Ridout (2016).
The seminar will be a relaxed and informal affair. There
may be one or two tunes. Band members will talk
about their choice of instrument, their development as
young musicians, commenting on challenges faced,
before being open to a few questions and answers
from a discerning audience!
The seminar will be of special interest to young people
and aspiring musicians, but jazz fans of any age will be
eager to discover more about these young musicians
and their achievements.

Brighter Sound presents Shake, Rattle & Roll –
musical fun for babies, toddlers aged 0 to 4, and
their parents.
Explore instruments, create sounds, sing songs, dance,
move, socialise and make a big noise. Shake, Rattle &
Roll sessions give children the opportunity to explore,
learn and build musical skills and understanding.
Parents get a chance to learn new songs and lots of
musically interactive activities and games to continue
to sing and play at home. Shake, Rattle & Roll sessions
include new songs composed by Early Years music
specialist Beth Bishop as well as some old favourites.
Two separate sessions at 10am to 10:50 and 11am –
11:50am - Just 30 places at each session.
