Antifog
Food packaging and horticultural films
used with water-containing products
often fog over on their inner surface
due to the condensation of tiny droplets
of moisture. Droplets are particularly
undesirable in greenhouse films, where
good light transmission is essential for
crop growth.
CESA-nofog additive masterbatches
eliminate the problem by lowering the
surface tension of the water droplets,
causing them to merge and form a
continuous transparent layer that maintains
the clarity of the film. For example,
CESA-nofog 2101 was developed for
LDPE and LLDPE food packaging film.
It does not affect the transparency of
the film and withstands sudden temperature
variations.
polymers are desirable in a wide range
of applications, their typically very low
electrical conductivity sometimes
restricts their area of application. The
use of CESA-conductive compounds
and masterbatches improves electrical
conductivity, enabling plastic parts,
for example, to protect highly sensitive
electronic components from damage
caused by electrostatic discharge.
Conductive compounds are also
increasingly used in components for
transporting hazardous materials.
