hermeneutics required hard work. Interpretation is involved in biblical<br />
preaching and teaching and it is described as labour (1 Tim. 5:17, RSV).<br />
However, as you diligently and prayerfully use the various methods the<br />
Lord will give you understanding (2 Tim. 2:7, 15).<br />
5.0 SUMMARY<br />
In this unit we have studied the inductive and deductive approaches to<br />
Bible interpretation. The unit began with the explanation <strong>of</strong> the meaning<br />
<strong>of</strong> inductive and deductive methods. This was followed with discussion<br />
and illustrative examples <strong>of</strong> the following methods: Synthetic, Analytic,<br />
Topical, Theological, Biographical and Devotional.<br />
