Courteous Concern
I stopped into the Deerfield Beach
District Office to speak to Sgt. Ryan
Hyatt with no notice. He took the time
to be courteous, respectful and frank in
providing me with advice regarding an
ongoing situation. I really appreciate what
the men and women of the Broward
Sheriff’s Office do daily to make us safer.

Airport Appreciation
I would like to applaud the efforts
of Dep. Casimiro Navarro, who in
my opinion went above and beyond
the normal call of duty. He provided
assistance to my entire family, enabling
us to catch our flight back home to
Ohio. He not only reached out to the
pilot, he also got us transportation to our
departing gate. While this may seem like
an inconsequential act of service to most,
it was an enormous act of kindness to my
family and I! Sheriff, I thought you would
find honor in knowing that your deputy
not only serves the people of Broward
County, but all people in need. To Dep.
Navarro: “A man’s reputation is what
other people think of him, his character
is what he really is.”— John Milton . I
am thankful that we ran into a man with
great character at the Fort Lauderdale/
Hollywood International Airport!

Missing Man Found
I am writing to say thank you for all
the help your department gave me when
my son went missing; he has since been
located and is receiving the treatment he
needs. I want to especially thank Dep.
Jerome Squadrito from Deerfield Beach
and Investigator Chevette Moore from
Regional Investigations. Not only were
they professional, but compassionate as
well. That meant so much to me during
such an emotional time. I’m sure there
are others behind the scenes whose names
are not known to me and therefore I
want to thank them, as well. I believe that
law enforcement agencies throughout
this nation could take a lesson from the
Broward Sheriff’s Office! Again, my
heartfelt thanks.

Purse Predicament
While waiting for a departing flight
home to Canada, my wife and I discovered
that her purse was missing. We approached
Dep. Thomas Bourdage and with his
assistance we were able to quickly locate
it in the rental car that we had returned.
Please pass along our sincere thanks to
Dep. Bourdage for his assistance and for
allowing us to use his personal cell phone
to help locate the purse.

Thorough Case Thank You
I would just like to thank Det. Scott
Erdelyi from Regional Investigations.
After our baby was severely burned by a
caretaker, our entire family was extremely
upset and irate because of the abuse. We
wanted swift justice. Det. Erdelyi was
very patient with us and explained the
process and what to expect. He promised
once he had completed his investigation
it would be submitted to the State
Attorney’s Office. He delivered on his
promise by putting together a thorough
and comprehensive case that the SAO’s
office can use to bring this violent
criminal to justice. We are most grateful
and appreciative.

I was attempting to gather information
on an accident report from an insurance
company with the assistance of Renee
Murphy from BSO’s Records Division.
I must say, for an agency of your size —
and with the volume of work employees
must be faced with on a daily basis —
Renee was extremely polite, friendly and

example of an outstanding employee and
