T
he Auxiliary of the JFK
Medical Center Foundation
had plenty to celebrate in 2006, as
it concluded one of the most exciting
years in the organization’s history. At
its General Meeting held in October,
Auxiliary Co-Presidents Judith L. Spiegel
and Doris B. De Sarno presented a check
to John P. McGee, President/CEO of
Solaris Health System, symbolizing the
fulfillment of the Auxiliary’s $3 million
pledge to JFK Medical Center. The pledge
was committed in 2000 and represents the
largest gift ever issued by the Auxiliary.
“This was a thrilling moment for us and a
very big milestone in the life of the
Auxiliary,” stated Mrs. Spiegel.
That donation was followed by a second
check representing the Auxiliary’s initial
payment toward its $2.5 million pledge
to the JFK Medical Center’s 2004 Capital
Campaign. The money is earmarked for
the new ambulatory care building,
which will be named JFK Auxiliary
Ambulatory Care Plaza in honor of the
organization’s generosity.
Supply. The Heather Twig of the Auxiliary
hosted another highly successful benefit,
the “Fall into Fashion” luncheon and
fashion show, held on October 29 at the
Metuchen Golf & Country Club. Over
In addition to its philanthropic work, the
Auxiliary also sustained
its commitment to
community outreach,
including a fitness program
for area middle
schools, nursing home
activities and scholarship
awards to deserving
students pursuing
advanced education.
“These accomplishments
wouldn’t have
been possible without
the diligence and hard
work of past presidents,
board members, auxilians
and the many vol-
The Auxiliary looks forward to continued
festivities in 2007 as it prepares to commemorate
its 45th anniversary this fall.
