A word from the Ed
Yes, it’s true, we’re back. I’ve
had to take a little time away for
health reasons but all is now good
and we are now fired up and
ready to rock ‘n’ roll. So, what’s
new with the SBT? Well, to start
with we now have a plan to print
copies of the magazine and
supply them to homeless veterans
to sell out on the street to ensure
those who sign up can at least get
a meal or maybe even a room for
the night. We will be trialing it in
Birmingham and Worcester to
start with but after that, who
knows? We’ve said a very sad
goodbye to one or two members
of the team but we have a few
more helping out at the sharp end.
Ken, our trusty sponsor is still
backing us and giving me grief on
a daily basis, however, I
currently have a respite from his
beady eye as he is busy sunning
himself on a beach in the Canary
Islands. Of course, I’m just
pulling his leg. He’s been an
absolute diamond recently and the
survival of the SBT is very much
down to him and our magazine
manager Matt. We have a new
style ‘Have Faith’, Canada
Calling still remains, thank you
Robby, the Historical Tommy
Atkins still searches for stories of
our military past. The SBT Radio
show is set to make a return in the
very near future. Unfortunately,
Ricky is no longer able to commit
himself to it as he has rejoined the
army and gone back to the
Development and Trials team at
Middle Wallop. Hopefully, I may
be able to talk him in to making a
guest appearance every now and
then as I know he is sorely
missed. Finally, I would like to
give our competitions a bit of a
push, we have some great prizes
coming up in the very near future
including 4 tickets to Cosford Air
Show, 2 Tickets to Yeovilton Air
Show and a printed, signed copy
of one of the beautiful War Poppy
Collection from Jacqueline
