The Ipswich Public Health Department wants to help organizations planning these events understand Massachusetts food regulations, the permit application process and safe food handling. This training is designed for event coordinators, event volunteers and food establishment operators that may participate in temporary food events. Temporary food events present special challenges since they may operate either indoors or outdoors and often have limited physical and sanitary facilities available. The mural initiative is funded by a Recreational Trails Grant from the Department of Conservation and Recreation, and the murals will be permanently installed on solid board fencing along the new trail. The Request for Proposals (RFP) can be viewed on the City’s website at: http://www.cityofnewburyport.com/home/news/clipper-city-rail-trail-phase-ii-mural-project. Proposals are due on May 1, 2017. Finalists will be named in May, selections made in June, and the murals will be created over the summer. The artwork will be digitally printed on 4-foot x 6-foot aluminum composite panels, laminated for protection from ultraviolet radiation, framed with metal trim molding and mounted on the wood fence panels along with plaques for The Town Common 161 S.
