ENRICHMENT<br />
<strong>Coombeshead</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> Sports Centre welcomed hundreds<br />
of students and parents to the annual Careers and Higher<br />
Education Fair, now in its eleventh year. Once again the<br />
evening was a great success.<br />
CHRISTOW<br />
The aim of the event is to inform, encourage and raise<br />
awareness of career options available to the students in our<br />
community. It is important that they have the opportunity to<br />
explore the career pathways and options nationally, as well as<br />
those locally.<br />
The evening was very well supported by students, parents and<br />
staff from <strong>Coombeshead</strong> <strong>Academy</strong>, Teign School and other<br />
local secondary schools who had been invited to the event.<br />
In excess of 1500 visitors made for a very busy evening for<br />
nearly 200 delegates across 80 plus stands. Many of the<br />
delegates have supported this popular event since its<br />
inception as a STEM specialist Careers Fair at Teign School<br />
eleven years ago.<br />
Exhibitors came from Higher and Further Education, industry<br />
and the service sector, together covering an impressive range<br />
of career options and education provision.<br />
For students looking for Post 16 options in Newton Abbot all<br />
education providers were in attendance showing the range of courses on offer across<br />
the town from specialist provision, A Level and vocational courses.<br />
The evening proved to be an excellent vehicle for schools to work collaboratively for<br />
the benefit of all the students in our community.<br />
