Hope & Renewal<br />

I’m not a Medical Doctor,<br />

Nutritionist nor certified Health<br />

Coach. I’m simply a single 54 yr.<br />

old woman trying to make it in this<br />

world. I do, however, consider<br />

myself an expert on hope &<br />

renewal. You see, I was recently<br />

diagnosed with Rheumatoid<br />

Arthritis (RA). Unlike most people, I<br />

was actually relieved to have<br />

gotten a definitive diagnosis – now<br />

I could take action and do<br />

something about it! I had hope and<br />

was determined to renew my<br />

health!<br />

I initially went on medication to help<br />

me short term. But, I didn’t like the<br />

adverse side-effects so I knew a<br />

major lifestyle shift was in order.<br />

Over the years, I had researched<br />

the effects of the foods we eat and<br />

the effects they have on our<br />

bodies. The way we eat today has<br />

caused our body pH to drop to the<br />

acidic side, where disease can not<br />

only develop, but flourish. Our<br />

bodies function healthfully and<br />

optimally at a slightly alkaline, or<br />

basic, pH. So, I knew for sure I<br />

had to give up sugar, processed<br />

foods, even wheat & gluten, and<br />

increase my intake of whole foods,<br />

including vegetables and fruits. I<br />

immediately began drinking 8 oz. of<br />

lemon water using ½ a lemon first<br />

thing in the morning to start the<br />

detox process. I continue drinking<br />

water throughout the day to<br />

continue flushing the toxins from my<br />

body. After the lemon water, I make<br />

a green smoothie using just enough<br />

fruit to give it flavor, yet not too<br />

many calories. I love to experiment<br />

with my own recipes, but my key<br />

ingredients in all of my smoothies<br />

are 2 handfuls of a variety of<br />

greens, 1 stalk of celery including<br />

the leaves, ½ large cucumber, a<br />

handful of baby carrots, 1/2 an<br />

apple & almond milk. I use a variety<br />

of fruits and make a different<br />

concoction every day. I make a<br />

whole pitcher full so I get 3-4<br />

smoothies out of each smoothie,<br />

enough to last me 2 days. I had also<br />

seen a study about going totally<br />

grain-free, so the next step was to<br />

eliminate all grains, not just wheat<br />

and gluten. I added a supplement<br />

that is purely fruits and vegetable<br />

(Juice Plus+) and I felt a major<br />

difference in less than a week. The<br />

pain was gone in 4 days & the<br />

fatigue was diminished by day 6. I<br />

have been off my meds for 2<br />

months now and I feel great! I have<br />

no pain and have amazing energy. I<br />

am quite confident that I have put<br />

the disease into remission by these<br />

simple dietary changes, among<br />

other positive changes. Each<br />

morning when I awake, I listen to<br />

the late Dr. Wayne Dyer and the<br />

first words out of my mouth are<br />

“Thank You, thank You, thank you!”<br />

because I am so grateful for the<br />

Divine Guidance and knowledge to<br />

have been able to renew<br />

my life and my health. You<br />

can too! ☐<br />
