Why not be one of the local charities
our runners raise money for?
A community focused event,
St Albans Half Marathon on
Sunday 11 th June aims to raise
money for local charities and
organisations as well as put on a great
day out for all the family. Known for
the beautiful route, encouraging
marshals and, of course, the free ice
lolly at the finish line, this is a Half
Marathon like no other.
It’s as simple as
Be Resourceful
We have plenty of resources available for you to
use, why not download a poster and start
recruiting runners for your own charity team?
Be Social
Social media is a quick and
easy way to get the word out!
Be on our website
If you would like to feature
on our website, simply send
us the following information:
• Your logo
• A brief blurb about the Charity
• Contact details for the runners to get in touch
Download the
poster here!
Support
How much you choose to
support your runners is
up to you.
You can simply send the
runners our Charity
Runners Guide and let
them do their own thing,
or if you want to be more
involved then keep in
touch with them and
show your support on
the day.
Keep in contact
Once they have signed up, try to keep
in contact and ask how their training is
going. This could be something
interesting for you to put on social
media and will also spur them on to
reach their fundraising target – make
them feel important!
Offer something FREE
Everyone loves a freebie! Could you
motivate your runners by providing
them with a free running vest and
promotional merchandise? If they
have a branded running vest it will
help to promote your charity on the
day too!
Find out their story
Find out why they are running in the
event and why they chose your charity.
It could make a good case study and
inspire others to join them!
Come along on the day
Did you know we have a meet and
greet area in the Runners Village? Why
not get there early, put up a gazebo
and make a meeting point for your
runners! This is a great way to build
morale before the race and get some
good team photos! Please note there is
no parking available at the park,
please use one of the car parks
detailed on our website.
Please see Cheering Points Map (next page) for more info
Spectator
Cheering
Points
We have three recommended Cheering Points which are
idea for you to support your runners:
Blue House Hill
Participants will come past
you three times between
10am-2pm during miles 1, 3
and 12. This is a great place
to watch if you want to pop
back to the Runner’s Village
during the day. Just a short
walk up from the Runners
village, you can bring along
a picnic blanket or camping
chair to sit and watch the
runners go by. Public toilets
are available next to the
Verulamium Museum.
Hollybush Pub
Participants go past at miles
6 and 11 between
10:30am-1pm, however
you need to be in by 10am
as the road will be closed
from then. The road reopens
at 12pm. This is a
great place to watch if you
are looking for a relaxed
day with a few drinks and
good food. Parking is free in
the pub car park. Toilets
and food are also available
in the Pub.
Chiswell Green
Participants will be passing
between 11am-12:30pm
during miles 8/9. Watch
here if you are ready to do
lots of cheering as the
participants will be feeling
the strain by now! You can
come and go as you please
from Noke lane; the road is
closed so roadside parking
is available for free. You will
be right next to the runners
at this spot so stick your
hand out for a high five.
Registration
We do not
charge charity
registration
fees!
