We are delighted<br />
that after a<br />
year-long<br />
building project,<br />
St Chad’s has<br />
finally re-opened its doors<br />
again.<br />
And reopened is definitely<br />
the right word as the new<br />
West doors to the church<br />
have now reopened as<br />
the main entrance for the<br />
first time in over 80 years.<br />
As you will see from the<br />
photographs, the inside of<br />
the church is lighter and more<br />
spacious. We now have a<br />
dedicated place for the war<br />
memorial and our font has<br />
been beautifully re-sited<br />
and surrounded by coloured<br />
glasswork. A new kitchen will<br />
allow us to serve hot meals<br />
whilst our new parish office<br />
will ensure that the building<br />
can be open for much longer<br />
periods in the day.<br />
The inside of St Chad’s may<br />
look very different but it has<br />
lost none of its tranquility and<br />
peace that so many people<br />
comment upon when they<br />
enter. We hope that many<br />
people from our parish will<br />
find time to be quiet and pray<br />
in the church and in doing so<br />
may find God’s peace.<br />
The new church will be<br />
formally re-opened in the<br />
presence of the Bishop of<br />
Doncaster and Louise Haigh<br />
MP on April 2 at 10am. All<br />
are welcome.<br />
