The International Institute for Counter-
Terrorism (ICT) The International Institute
for Counter-Terrorism is active in the
development of innovative public policy
programs for solving the issues surrounding
international terror by means of practical
research. ICT aims to research the subject
of how to morally and psychologically deal
with terror and formulate recommendations
which will minimize the effectiveness of
the terror strategy and also assist in
strengthening the public’s resilience against
this phenomenon. The uniqueness of the
Institute compared to other institutions is
its research method - special think tanks
composed of figures from various research
disciplines from academia and from the
security field. From its establishment, ICT
has focused on activities in various areas:
academic-practical research, workshops
and conferences, advice to decision makers,
educational activities, discussion and
brainstorming forums, and the creation
and use of databases.
Internship Opportunities at ICT*
Students in the Lauder School of Government
are given the opportunity to pursue an
internship at ICT by participating in research
activities, under the guidance of the Institute’s
research faculty.

The Institute for Policy and Strategy
(IPS) The IPS aim is to help formulate policy
advice in areas of homeland security, with
an emphasis on strategy, foreign policy,
international relations, regional processes,
political pacts, government, and trends
within the Jewish people. As a policy
institute, it entertains a variety of opinions
and ideas. Its working method embraces
the interdisciplinary approach, examining
and integrating a wide array of subjects.
The Institute operates via its widespread
connections in Israel and abroad - academic
and governmental circles, organizing think
tanks, initiating meetings with experts and
political leaders, and organizing conferences
and discussion forums.
Internship Opportunities at IPS
Each year, IPS provides an opportunity for
IDC Herzliya students, with an emphasis
on third year students of the Lauder School
of Government, to volunteer at the Herzliya
Conference and get exposure to its contents
and the events, contributing a concrete
and valuable experience to their studies.
