Please allow me to introduce myself. I am<br />
Garret Anway and I’ve lived this Lifestyle for<br />
over 30 years!<br />
I dedicated 15 of those years to being the<br />
Freakiest Bodybuilder I could be! I got out of<br />
the United States Marine Corps in December<br />
1988 and moved to Florida. I won Mr. Sarasota<br />
in May of 1989. I weighed in at a whopping 156<br />
pounds on my 5’4” frame!<br />
the Best Bodybuilder I could be! In my column<br />
in <strong>Biomass</strong> <strong>Muscle</strong> I will take you along on my<br />
journey of living the Bodybuilder’s Dream! :) To<br />
all of my 40+ year old bodybuilder brothers and<br />
sisters out there, send me pictures and a small<br />
bio because I would like to share them in my<br />
column.<br />

This is when thousands of people would turn<br />
out for the night show. Sarasota show<br />
promoter and also western Florida NPC District<br />
chairperson Rich Collis (RIP) made sure all<br />
competitors were treated like Gold! He also<br />
held Posing classes every Sunday from 6 weeks<br />
out to show time so everyone could represent<br />
themselves at their best! It was held in a dance<br />
studio and screamed the scene from Pumping<br />
Iron with Arnold and Franco taking Ballet<br />
lessons. Mr. Collis also owned and operated<br />
Mr. GYM in Sarasota, a Hardcore gym for sure!<br />
No women allowed. Very Old School even for<br />
1989! I also trained at Premier Athletic Club<br />
too, which I was getting clients for this thing<br />
called Personal Training. I was offered a job at<br />
Premier putting new members through<br />
workouts and Loved It!<br />
After I won Mr. Sarasota, Premier put a huge<br />
cutout pic of me from the show in the Lobby.<br />
My Passion for Bodybuilding was intense and<br />
now with a title behind me it gave me a little<br />
clout. I was promoted at Premier to morning<br />
manager and fell in love with the job! I could’ve<br />
worked there forever but it wasn’t to be.<br />
Premier shut its doors and I went on another<br />
Journey. Every day I was still working at being
