This colorful, emotional and solemn parade,
full of dust, sweat and faith, starts in Seville
and more precisely in the Simpecados (the
Sevillian brotherhood). In the city center, it is
a pleasure to enjoy the departure from the
Sevillian brotherhood settled in the Salvador
church and also the procession along the old
part of the city. This year is going to take place
on Thursday, the first of June, at the very early
in the morning. On its return to the city, during
the 8 th of June in the afternoon, this procession
will do the same parade along the Sevillian
streets until it reaches its church, when this
happens, we conclude a week full of devotion.
Sevilla.
The romería del Rocío (religious pilgrimage to the Rocío Virgin chapel) in Almonte
(Huelva) is one of the most famous and crowded religious pilgrimages that exist
in the whole country. Every year, more than a hundred brotherhoods all around
Spain and more than a million romeros (pilgrims) make the pilgrimage on foot, on
horseback or in wagons carried by tame bulls or by tractors through the camino
(journey), the Quema river, the Raya Real (the principal way) or the Ajolí, the most
representative settlement in the whole route from Seville.
