Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) Student Merit Award The IDSA conducts the Student Merit Award portfolio competition at each accredited design program. Seniors present their work to local industry professionals for evaluation. The design professionals choose a winner to represent the Wentworth Industrial Program at the annual Northeast Regional Conference. The Student Merit Award is a high honor for graduating seniors aspiring to enter the profession of industrial design with an edge on the competition. Recipient Garret Brown, BIND College of Architecture Design & Construction Management Leadership Awards The Student Organization of the Year Award is presented to an outstanding student organization which best exhibits student involvement in organization activities, commitment to student life at Wentworth, represents Wentworth in a positive manner, and encourages the development of leadership skills in its members. Recipient Computer Science Society Student Organization of the Year Outstanding Leadership Awards Each Outstanding Leadership Award is presented to a student who has shown leadership and dedication to their co-curricular involvement. The First Year Leadership Award is presented to a new student who has already shown significant contributions to their organization and will likely leave a lasting impression on Wentworth's community. The Sophomore Leadership award is presented to a student who serves as a strong role model for their classmates and displays potential for success in future leadership roles. The Junior Leadership Award recipient is a student who regularly demonstrates enthusiasm toward and passion for their role on campus and displays potential for success in future leadership roles. Eta Kappa Nu is the international honor society of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). The society’s designated fields of interest include but are not limited to Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Computer Science. Eta Kappa Nu members are distinguished by superior scholarship, attitude, and character. These students highlight the value of collaboration, interdisciplinary studies, and innovation. Honorary Societies & EPIC Leadership Awards Chi Alpha Sigma Recognition of New Members Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes college student athletes who earn a varsity letter in at least one sport while maintaining a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA throughout their junior and senior years. Chi Alpha Sigma‘s purpose is to encourage and reward high academic scholarship of college athletes at accredited colleges and universities and to encourage good citizenship, moral character, and friendship among the high academic achievers in college athletics. These Wentworth Leadership Institute graduates have completed 8 weeks of fundamental leadership skills in the Phase of the institute, 4 weeks of perspective challenging discussions in the Phase II seminar, and have successfully completed a year-long Phase III project showcased in the annual Wentworth Expo. The recipient is someone who may not necessarily hold an executive position, but who is considered by many to be a leader among leaders. They have consistently been a team player and continually rises to challenges. This student’s efforts are extremely appreciated by their organization and the Wentworth Community.
