Sunday, 12 th 2017 – Day 2
Today we went in to the local area and to the hospital we are visiting tomorrow.
During the day, we have captured some great footage of Las Palmas and the external
parts of the hospital.
My first thoughts: The sun, heat and way of life must help patients in recovery, but I
will know more on this when I meet with local patients tomorrow. The hospital is
very impressive and tomorrow I get to see inside this impressive building.
The local people here in Las Palmas are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble
for them.
Funniest part of the day was on arriving at the hospital the guys prepared to get the
camera ready and just as they opened the camera case, a Las Palmas Wind blew the
two very expensive memory cards out of the box and straight in to a drain channel,
not to bad but the drain was covered in a Metal Grid...... I think Roger said, ‘Oh my
God’ or something like that!
The picture below shows the team hunting for the Cards (good job it had been a hot
few days as there was no water in the drain), it was decided to chew gum, Roger
volunteered and then lower a thin external drive with the gum placed on the bottom
into the drain and hopefully recover the two VERY EXPENSIVE cards..... ‘Happy
days it worked.
