About Celebrate Highwood Celebrate Highwood is proud to announce it obtained 501(c)(3) status in April 2016. With a mission
of bringing people together to build community and establish Highwood as a prime destination for entertainment, Celebrate
Highwood produces festivals and events all while raising funds for worthy non-profit organizations.
Celebrate Highwood kicked off its first fundraising campaign last summer with an inaugural North Shore Taco Fest in July. It also
produces The Annual Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival, which has evolved into an internationally recognized event raising tens of
thousands of dollars for charity. And last year, more than $60K was successfully raised for Make-A-Wish Illinois.
The purpose is to foster a great sense of community by producing ongoing events and festivals and encouraging neighbors to come
together to work toward specific goals with our charity partnerships. The events and festivals also help promote the area as a wonderful
place to live, eat and play. All monies raised through our activities are donated to local and national charitable organizations.
The Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival | Benefitting Make-A-Wish, IL | Friday, October 6 – Sunday, October 8
The Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival is the biggest outdoor celebration
on the North Shore featuring nightly jack-o-lantern lightings
as Highwood attempts to break the Guinness World Record
for the most carved and lit jack-o-lanterns at the same time.
Now in its ninth year, this celebration features pumpkin-filled walls
throughout the festival grounds, nightly wall lightings, all you can
carve pumpkins, trick or treating, costume contests, hayrides,
pony rides, a petting zoo, carnival rides, kids crafts, two stages jam
packed with live music, food and beverage vendors and a Superhero
5K Pumpkin Run/Walk.
What began as dream in 2009 has evolved into an internationally
recognized event that has raised tens of thousands of dollars
for charities to date. Last year, The Great Highwood Pumpkin
Festival partnered with Make-A-Wish Illinois with the hopes
of granting 100 wishes to Illinois children diagnosed with life
threatening medical conditions.
