TCX ASCENDER RANGE
Meet the new revolutionary TCX Platform:
super compact, lightweight and powered with
external changeable batteries.
The bi-directional "gas handle" (patent pending)
controls both up and down movement
without the need of switching buttons. This
unique new feature adds speed to the process
by allowing the operator to act more instinctive
and eliminates the need of extra push
buttons. Ofcourse the TCX features a remote
control option as well.
The new rope cover makes rope feeding even
more easy than it is on the successful T1-16.
Its new design eliminates the possibility that
the cover opens under load and offers better
protection by covering the rotating rope grab
completely.
The rope grab is optimized for TAGS® Patron
PLUS ropes but also works with other specified
semi static ropes (EN1891A).
Visit www.tags.systems for latest information and learn how our ascender range
is being used in tactical and rescue operations; in industrial, urban, maritime and
remote area’s. Several applications are highlited for boarding ships and other
maritime operations, for tactical ascending and descending and complex rescue
operations. The possibillities however are only limited by your imagination.
TCX SEAL - POWER ASCENDER
The TCX SEAL is the first ascender that is based on the
new revolutionary TCX Platform: super compact, lightweight
and powered with external changeable batteries.
The TCX SEAL is designed for tactical, remote, urban
& maritime operations and aims at top tier special
operations units. Built for speed and watertightness.
The speed and lifting capacity are optimized for one
fully equipped operator and diving operations up to
TCX ASSAULT - POWER ASCENDER
The TCX Assault Features the exact same specifications
as the TCX SEAL except for the watertightness. The Ingress
Protection Level of the TCX Assault is IP 67 (solid:
dust tight/water: up to 1m/3,3ft).
TCX FORCE - POWER ASCENDER
The TAGS TCX Force is the work horse of the TCX family.
Designed for both active and passive rescue & lifting
operations. The speed and lifting capacity are optimized
to lift a fully equipped operator plus casualty with
stretcher and medical equipment (or other 250kg payload);
without the need to rig a pulley system.
The TCX Force is ideal for rescues in remote, urban and
industrial locations for military and law enforcement
special operations where high lifting capacity is of the
essence. The TCX Force is dust proof and watertight to a
Powered Ascenders
PME - PETROL POWERED ASCENDER
The PME Power Ascender is a heavy duty lifting tool
made for military and rescue professionals. It is powered
by a strong but lightweight 4 stroke Honda engine
and best described as compact mobile winch that works
with semi-static rope. The rope grab is optimized for
TAGS® Patron PLUS ropes but also works with a
variety of other semi static ropes (EN1891A).
The PME allows you to work fast and efficient and it has
proven to be a compact and efficient rope winch for
various military applications.
It is a rugged lifting tool for hard work. Scorching heat or
biting frost? It doesn't really matter; the PME does the
job.
The PME is a lightweight alternative to other lifting
equipment. An already high lifting capacity that can be
further extended by a pulley system makes it ideal for
lifting/dragging material and equipment. Since the PME
is very compact and runs on unleaded petrol/gasonline
this tool is ideal for extended use in remote locations or
mountaineous area's.
Some applications:
• Lifting or dragging equipment and supplies.
• Installation of structures, antenna's (lifting).
• Lifting explosives (EOD).
• Disaster Relief/USAR (collapsed building: winching
objects).
• Mountain rescue (crevasse rescue, long drops,
heavy lifting, etc.).
PMX - PETROL POWERED ASCENDER
The band new PMX Power Ascender can been seen as a
further development of the succesful and field proven
PME Ascender. The big difference with the PME is that
the PMX features a descending/lowering function. You
can actively ride up and down a rope or use it as a lifting/lowering
tool (having it suspended on a rigging/
belay point.
The PMX is very compact and runs on unleaded petrol/
gasonline.
The new rope cover makes rope leading even more easy
than it is on the succesful PME. Its new design eliminates
the possibility of the cover opening up under load
and offers better protection by covering the rotating
rope grab completely.
The rope grab is optimized for TAGS® Patron PLUS
ropes but also works with a variety of other semi
static ropes (EN1891A).
An already high lifting capacity that can be further
extended by a pulley system makes it ideal for lifting/
dragging material and equipment and difficult rescues.
These unique features make the PMX the ultimate
rescue tool for prolonged -heavy duty- operations in
remote locations (e.g. mountain rescue).
Some applications:
• Lifting/lowering or dragging equipment and
supplies.
• Installation of structures, antenna's (lifting).
• Lifting explosives (EOD).
• High angle rescue.
• Disaster Relief (collapsed building: winching
objects).
• Mountain rescue (crevasse rescue, long drops,
heavy lifting, etc.).
POWER ASCENDER CARRY SYSTEM (PACS)
TAGS PACS is an ideal backpack system for carrying any
of our Power Ascenders in the field secure and comfortable.
The backpack features an external frame. The
duffle bag can be zipped to the frame. The backpack and
duffle can be used in combination or separate (sold as
kit).
Features:
• Intex ll aluminium frame.
• Adjustable ladder harness system. Makes customizing
the fit quick and easy.
• Three built in horizontal compression straps for
securing your gear tight to the frame.
• Duffle can be zippered on/of and holds ascender
with rope and rigging equipment.
• Duffle also features external facing access, internal
tuck-pockets, and a carry strap, making it useful
anytime you need a duffel bag.
TAGS® ROPE AND LADDER LAUNCHERS
TAGS® high performance pneumatic launchers are specifically designed for use in
the toughest maritime and urban environments. They are extremely effective and
easy to use in difficult special operations (diving, boat-based and land-based).
Meet the most durable launchers on the market today. They are surprisingly
simple to maintain -even in the field if necessary- and require only few spares to
take along. The systems are very cost effective if used frequently and extremely
reliable. Important improvements lead to the brand new Mark 3 model.
NEW! TAGS® COMPACT LAUNCHER MK3
TAGS® Compact Launchers have been specifically
designed for use in the toughest maritime, remote and
urban environments. We can proudly state they are
trusted by many top notch units around the globe!
Operations around the world have shown that the
launcher is extremely effective and easy to use in difficult
scenario’s (diving, boat-based and land-based
ops). Based on operational (end user) experience we
have implemented major improvements which led to our
brand new MK3 model (spring 2017).
SIMPLE TO USE
Rather than designing products that look fancy TAGS®
offers products that work! After building the first
prototypes we thought “how can we make this product
look more cool”. Soon we came to the conclusion that it
would be better to keep things simple and robust. Using
it in extreme cold weather conditions with unexperienced
users we came to the conclusion that this was a
very wise decision. The launchers are extremely easy to
operate.
9mm rope (both left-or right-handed operation possible).
You can also fit both; ideal if you have to take
multiple shots. No tools or difficult actions are needed
to mount the canister. You can easy mount them wearing
thick gloves in pitch dark. Two simple rubber bands
prevent the rope or ladder falling out of the canister.
wwYou can leave the bands when taking the shot.
The Compact Launcher is fitted with a folding buttstock
shaft that features shock mitigation. The shoulder stock
can be completely removed. This ensures compact storage
and transportation.
A compact rope container can be mounted on the leftor
right side of the barrel and fits around 50m (165ft) of
This Magazine features an important part of the products and services
we provide in the field of ACCESS. It is however impossible to cover all
topics and information in this issue. Check www.tags.systems for a full
overview, the latest information on products.
HOW SIMPLE...?
Push the projectile in the barrel. Put safety catch on.
The safety catch puts a 100% mechanical lock on trigger
and enables internal safety features that allow the
air to bleed off in a controlled way should any component
inside the launcher fail. Redundancy; rest assured
we made it very reliable.
The air bottle is fitted with an automatic valve and can
be exchanged very easily in the field as well. Bottles can
be filled using any scuba diving tank or scuba compressor.
The filling assembly fits both 200bar/2900psi INT or
DIN and 300bar/4350psi DIN systems).
PROJECTILES
The Compact Launcher can be used to deploy a
climbing rope, flexible ladder or towing line.
Access Launchers
RANGE
The range depends on the fire pressure selected and on
type and diameter of rope used (see the rather optimistic
specifications on the right). Of course wind or specific
payload can always be a factor. By choosing the right
pressure and angle you can pretty much shoot the projectile
where you want it to be. With the Messenger Line
Projectile you can also use the launcher to shoot a line
across a canyon, ship-to-ship, building to building, etc.).
STRONG, DURABLE, EASY TO MAINTAIN AT LOW COST
Having dealt with launchers for many years in both
operations and trainings we learned that reliability is
one of the main concerns. Even if used heavily during
long training only a few very cheap spares are needed
to maintain the launcher in perfect condition. Very cost
effective if used frequently. The main O-rings can be
changed in the field by every operator without technical
knowledge. It is built super robust. It will probably still
work if you drive over it with a car.
FOLDING GRAPNEL
The compact grapnel features folding arms made
from aerospace quality grade 5 titanium. The grapnel
almost completely dissapears inside the barrel
making it very compact.
Open the main valve to pressurize the pressure chamber
(have a look at the gauge and pressurize depending on
the height needed). Then aim, release the safety catch
and pull the trigger. Thats all...
After a shot you can immediately re-start the process;
just put another projectile in and shoot again. Depending
on the pressure setting it is possible to fire 3-5
projectiles without the need to exchange the 500cc air
bottle.
No shot fired? Make sure the safety catch is on and
release the air from the pressure chamber using the
release valve.
Remaining bottle pressure can be measured with an
optional seperate bottle pressure tester.
Ladders & Ladder Systems
TOP ASSEMBLY
The Top Assembly consists of the TAGS® Access Hook
(see page 18) and an adapter that fits the pole sections.
The unique Double Safety System ensures a tight, secure
and safe fit wihout the need of tools. There is only
one way to put the modules together. This eliminates
the risk of making mistakes and loss of valuable time.
POLE SECTIONS
Several Pole Sections can be added. They come in two
sizes: an 8 step full section (appr. 2,45m/8ft) and a 4
step half section (appr. 1,3m/4,3ft). The heavy duty
built ladder has a black Xylan high impact resistant
coating which gives excellent protection against corrosion,
chipping and wear. The rungs have projections in
place to prevent slipping and feature standoffs for easy
foot placement.
TAGS® MODULAR LADDER POLES
Our Modular Ladder Poles are designed for rapid boarding
of static and moving targets. The Ladder Pole is
simple to deploy and climbing is very easy. The operator
can effectively run up the ladder if necessary. If you need
to transfer persons from the vessel to the RHIB you will
find that it is also easy to climb for persons that are not
as well trained as your fellow team members.
The Ladder consists of a Top Assembly, Bottom Standoff
Assembly and in between you can add Pole Sections that
come in two sizes. You can basically choose the right
length for the vessel you need to board.
Combining the modules to a ladder is safe and simple
and can be done within seconds without the need of
tools.
RIGID LADDERS, POLE LADDERS &
FLEXIBLE SIDED LADDERS
TAGS® Modular Ladder Pole System and Marine Boarding Ladders make underway
boarding vessels from a RHIB very easy and safe. In addition to these rigid
ladders our flexible ladder range has been extended with the new TAGS® WireSafe
Ladders.
BOTTOM ASSEMBLY
The Bottom Standoff Assembly may be added optionally
to provide a more positive and stable standoff if the
hull is slightly over hanging. It also features holes to
mount the flexible extention.
Ladders & Ladder Systems
Ladders & Ladder Systems
TAGS® FIBRELIGHT II ASSAULT LADDERS
A complete re-design of the established Fibrelight Ladder.
Where the “normal” Fibrelight Ladders carry the
load of one operator; this one can take at least three at
a time! Built for heavy use by Special Forces and Tactical
Teams in harsh conditions!
Lightweight, noiseless, non conducting, contains no
metal parts and presents no radar signal. The sides
are flexible yet stable and the steps are reinforced with
carbon fibre rods; making it easy to climb, durable, safe
and strong.
With the design of several existing fibre ladders you
have to be very careful not to rig the ladder upside down
as the stitching could break and rungs could come off.
This has proven not always to be easy in the heat of an
operation. The Fibrelight II design can be loaded in both
directions! Very safe when the going gets tough...
BUILT FOR HEAVY DUTY MILITARY USE
The rung runs all the way through the sides of the ladder
so it can not be pushed out of its pocket (something
we have seen with other flexible ladders). Built for heavy
duty military use in marine environment!
JOINING FIBRELIGHT II LADDERS
One end of the ladder has a single attachment point
for fast and easy deployment. The other end has two
separate attachment points (three for the double rung
ladder). You can use this side to put 2 ladders together.
With the optional TAGS® Universal Connectors the
distance between the rungs remains consistent. These
attachment points can also be used to connect it to two
(or three) seperate anchor points to rig it slightly more
stable. The choice is yours.
TWO OPTIONS: SINGLE RUNG & DOUBLE RUNG
Available in two versions: Single Rung 200mm/8in
and Double Rung 390mm/15in widths. Rung spacing:
30cm/12in. All ladders are supplied with a black nylon
carry bag.
The optional TAGS® Ladder Standoffs make climbing
easier when used against a flat surface.
TAGS® WIRESAFE - STEEL WIRE LADDERS
In addition to the modern FibreLight Ladders developed
a more traditional style steel wire ladder (reinforced
caving ladder).
BUILT FOR HEAVY DUTY MILITARY USE
TAGS® WireSafe Ladders are designed for extreme maritime
environment and are built to last. The Safe Work
Load of the ladders equals 3 fully equipped operators.
The ladders are supported by high quality stainless
steel wires. The black anodized rungs are made out of
aluminium aloy and feature a special reinforced core
that guarantees safety when using fifi hooks and a
diamond edged surface structure that ensures grip in
wet conditions.
JOINING WIRESAFE LADDERS
The top ends of the ladder are long enough to be joined
and clipped into a single anchor point. The bottom side
of the ladder has two shorter ends. You can use this
side to join 2 ladders together. With the optional TAGS®
Universal Connectors the distance between the rungs
remains consistent.
RIGID MARINE BOARDING LADDERS
Our TAGS® Marine Boarding Ladder has been developed
for Military, Police and Custom’s Officers to board ships
under way for inspections and rapid assaults. The ladder
top hook, is simply placed over handrails or the ships
outer kick plates allowing the lower section stand off to
touch the side of the vessel.
The sealed construction makes the ladder fully buoyant
even in fresh water allowing immediate recovery if accidentally
lost (or thrown) overboard.
this ladder has proven to be an ideal lightweight tool for
urban operations as well.
Available in 2m/7ft and 3m/10ft versions. CE-Certified.
Marine Boarding Ladder 2m
The flexible ladder extension is optional but highly reccomendable
at high sea states as it avoids the ladder to
be kicked of the ship by the RHIB. The rungs are mounted
on 4 steel wires and the rungs feature cross bars
to make them extra strong and avoid severe damage
should the ladder accidently get hit by the RHIB.
Lenght: 1m/3.3ft. Individually tested. CE-Certified.
Flexible Extention features extra reinforced rungs
The heavy duty built ladder has a black high impact
resistant coating which gives excellent protection
against corrosion, chipping and wear. The rungs are
270mm/11in wide and 50mm/2in deep and have projections
in place to prevent slipping.
The Rubber feet allow the ladder to be used onboard the
vessel as stand alone ladder as well. Due to this feature
Pole Systems: Pneumatic
Pole Systems: Pneumatic
TAGS® NARWHAL POLE SYSTEMS
Our most important development in the field of hook
placement is definitely the use of pneumatic technology
to extract the pole.
Utilizing compressed air, these systems are nonpyrotechnic,
re-usable, and easy re-fillable. As the
compressed air from the reservoir fills the telescopic
pole, each of the segments fill silently, extending the
pole upwards super fast.
The operator controls the extended length of the
telescopic pole by regulating the flow of air with a gas
handle. Any vertical increment within the height of
the pole is achieved by engaging the lowering handle,
leaving the hook at the intended target.
Retraction is actively powered. Ensuring maximum
speed. Both up and down!
Narwhal Poles are designed to deliver a grappling
hook with climbing rope or flexible ladder for use in
acoustically covert urban method of access and maritime
boarding operations. Swift, smooth and silent!
Surpassing the performance of traditional windupand
manual poles by far. These systems may also
be adapted to deploy covert surveillance solutions
(audio- and video transmitters, etc.) or robotics.
TAGS® NARWHAL PNEUMATIC COMBI POLE
The first pole in this new family of products is the
TAGS® Narwhal Pneumatic Combi Pole. The pole
consists of 4 sections that can be joined in several
configurations. Making it versatile for several applications.
The integrated 2,2 liter, 200bar/2900psi air cylinder
is fitted with an automatic valve and can be charged in
seconds using any scuba diving tank or scuba compressor.
The charge assembly fits both 200bar/2900psi INT
or DIN and 300bar/4350psi DIN systems). If all sections
are joined a full cylinder allows up to five extensions.
With the telescopic base section fitted the pole extends
to 8,5m/28ft (height reach of 10m/32ft on land). The
transportation is only 2,5m/8ft. Ideal for urban operations
or diving operations with strong currents.
A second telescopic section can be fitted on top of the
first one. With a lenght of up to 12,5m/41ft and an
integrated air cylinder the pole is optimized for diving
and swimming operations. It can also be used for
urban-, vehicle based- and boat based operations.
If you want an "in between" size we added a rigid section
to the package that can can be mounted easily to the
telescopic base section. In this configuration the pole
extends to 10,5m/34ft.
The pole is made from aircraft grade aluminium. Shock
absorbing elements in between the sections avoid noise
when the pole is retracted.
The operating controls are extremely easy to use in
extreme conditions. There is one handle to extend- and
another one to retract the pole.
TAGS® NARWHAL COMBI POLE PACK
This versatile pole pack includes all sections plus integrated
air cylinder (transportation lenght 2,5m/8ft
maximum extention 12,5m/41ft. ). The pole can be
used in several configurations. The pack also includes
the Large Titanium Access Hook, Flibrelight Single
Pole Systems: Roll Up
Pole Systems: Hooks
TAGS® ROLL UP POLES
TAGS® Roll Up Pole Packs are the ideal tools for
urban and Maritime operations. Its super small pack
size allows you to dive through extremely narrow
passages or stow your pole in a leisure day pack
for covert operations. It extremely easy to use and
-lightweight (eg: 6,5kg/14,5lb for the complete Pole
Pack 5).
By throwing the roll on the ground holding it with one
hand (or dropping it underwater) it “automatically”
unfolds to a sturdy pole. Fit the top adapter and the
hook with ladder fitted and you will get instant
access to high objects (pole lenght plus body reach).
We have included a slightly longer fibre ladder to
accomodate a little bit reserve (this comes in handy
in many occasions e.g. when coping with current).
As soon as the hook is placed just pull it out of its
top adapter so hook and ladder remain. The pivoting
release system allows controllable freedom of movement
when placing the hook and avoids that the
connector pin gets jammed in the pole adapter.
Although placing is very reliable and exact; detaching
the hook remains extremely simple. Several hooks
can be placed in no-time! If the pole isn't needed
anymore simply roll it up.
TAGS® MASTER RAPPELLING GLOVE
TAGS® TACTICAL ASSAULT GLOVE
PROGRAMMABLE SUBMERSIBLE LIFE
VEST (PSLV)
Programmable Submersible Life Vest (PSLV) features
the first automatic inflating vest available in four
modes: Immersion or “Auto” mode, Delay mode,
Submersion “Dive” mode and “Scuba” mode.
In Immersion or Auto mode, the PSLV is an autoinflating
Personal Floatation Device (PFD), and is
virtually immune to wave splashes, heavy rain, and
high humidity. While a wet environment will not set
it off, simply immersing into the water will.
In Submersion or Dive mode, the PSLV inflates only
when the user’s self-set time and/or depth triggers
are exceeded. This valuable delay in inflation allows
for the operator to:
1. Recover from a fall into the water when early inflation
is not desirable and could be detrimental
2. Save a sinking buddy
3. Recovery from sink holes in rivers or swamps
4. Time to escape a sinking aircraft or an overturned
boat to avoid early inflation that might
trap them.
IMPROVING BOTH OPERATIONAL CAPABILITY & SAFETY
Safety is paramount! With help of top notch units around the globe
we are rapidly developing innovative equipment to cope with the ever
changing threats and operational challenges. It is our challenge to improve
operational capability and contribute the operators safety.
The Depth trigger is valuable when the operator is
faced with a rapid sink rate, which can accelerate as
he descends into deep water. Even though the time
trigger has not been met, exceeding the depth limit
will cause inflation.
In Scuba mode, the user may stay underwater as
long as the mission requires, however if he exceeds
his depth setting, the PSLV will fire. This mode is useful
in shallow-water tactical rebreather operations.
The TAGS® Master Rappelling Glove is the ultimate
glove for vertical operations. Designed for and used
by the Netherlands armed forces. The medium
weight belay/rappel gloves offer extra protection
without sacrificing dexterity and the double-layered
leather and padding protect the palm and key areas
from heat generated during long rappels or lowers.
Fingertips and other high-wear areas are reinforced
for increased durability but easy weapon handling is
still maintained. The back is made of leather areas
with an abrasion resistant, stretch nylon at key flex
areas and DuPont Kevlar inner lining. The low profile
neoprene cuff, with two layer leather protection area
and a Velcro closure, features a reinforced carabiner
hole for attaching the gloves to your harness. The
glove is intended to protect the user from the mechanical
hazards of abrasion, cuts caused by sharp
edges, tears and perforation.
Result is a total protective tactical glove, completely
ergonomic, lightweight & washable.
TAGS® Master Rappelling Glove
The TAGS® Tactical Assault Glove was originally
designed for a specific well known unit who wanted
an allround fire retardant operational glove with hard
knuckle protection and ultimate fit. The glove has
the high dexterity required for handling weapons and
small parts as well as abrasion protection through
dynamic combat environments. The design allows
the user to adjust tactical load bearing equipment,
armor vests, helmets, buckles, zippers, and elbow/
knee pads while wearing the fire resistant glove.
Specific applications include but are not limited to
tasks that require dismounted combat, riotcontrol,
urban combat maneuvers, general shooting and
weapon functions (both firearms and non-lethal),
driving “rough” vehicles including ATV’s, motor
cycles and duties that require superior finger dexterity,
operating heavy equipment, rugged labor, and
general mechanic’s functions.
The gloves feature a Nomex® cuff and top, goatskin
palm, fingers and hard knuckle protection.
TAGS® SAVE | INSTANT BACKUP AIR
TAGS® SAVE Instant Backup Air is an instantly accessible
and portable emergency air supply that can be integrated
into various equipment and load carrying configurations for
both maritime and land based tactical applications.
TAGS® SAVE - LARGE
TAGS® SAVE Instant Backup Air LARGE features a slightly
larger capacity for mobile applications such as close protection.
Some of the many applications:
• Close protection (emergency air supply for VIP and
operators; mobile use and fix mounted in armoured
vehicles)
• Urban assault, entry in cellars and tunnels
• Riverine- and surface swimming ops (short dives)
• Boarding operations (enables short dives)
• Emergency air for aviation operations over water
The air supply is delivered to the user by simply biting down
on the rubber mouth piece without the need for manual
activation, purging or clearing of the mouth piece. The
mouth piece is located in close proximity to the wearers
mouth and can be used hands free allowing the wearer to
use both hands to operate his weapons systems or effect an
escape/entry.
Weight 790 gram / 29.9 ounce
Size 135x190x17mm (width x height x depth)
Operating Pressure 200bar
Number of Breaths (approximately) 30-35
Material Aircraft grade aluminium
Color Grey Anodized
Item code TS HB-135-190
Features:
• Low profile: prevents snagging on weapons systems,
other tactical loads, climbing ladders or equipment.
• Contains compressed air and is designed to be re-filled
by using either a conventional dive cylinder or manual
high pressure pump although a mechanical air
compressor can be utilised.
• Designed for easy use in the field: minimal number of
components.
• Tactile charging check facility comprising of an indicator
pin that extends from the main body of the device
that can be felt by the operator should light discipline
be required (pin out unit charged, pin in charge unit).
• There is also an over fill valve that maintains the correct
charging pressure and prevents the device being
over filled.
• Kits include: SAVE Unit, Charge Hose (DIN to unit),
30cm hose with mouthpiece and manual and
transportation case. Several options available: longer
hose, DIN to INT adapter, compressor, training, etc.
SAVE EQUALS SAFE
SAVE is manufactured from aircraft grade aluminium and
the design is such that if the unit is struck by a round and
pierced unlike a traditional high pressure cylinder it will
not fragment and injure the wearer it will effect a release
of air and maintain its form. This consideration of course
is dependent on the size and calibre of munitions that are
involved. As the device is filled with compressed air and not
pure O2/enriched air, there is also the added benefit of a
reduced risk of ignition if the unit is compromised (as
above).
TAGS® SAVE - SMALL
BESPOKE & PURPOSE BUILT SYSTEMS
In addtion to the standard models featured; the system can
be customised if required and built to purpose:
• Integration in submersion suits, personal floatation
devices, etc.
• Vehicle mounted emergency air supply (for instance in
armoured vehicles). To be used in an ambush situation
where it is unsafe to exit the APC until the vehicle has
exited the threat area. Or to be used if the vehicle has
TAGS® D2 MICRO DESCENDER
The TAGS® D2 Descender by ISC has
a new handle operated cam system
specifically so that in a panic situation
the Descender would actually stop the
descent, rather than just slow it down.
The TAGS® D2 Descender is the only
Micro-Descender in the world to offer
this function.
The TAGS® D2 can be controlled by
pushing in the cam (ideally using the
thumb) which allows the user to smoothly
feed the rope through the device,
without the use of the handle. The cam
feed feature is particularly useful for
fast Bail-out or for work positioning
during roof work for example.
It is also easy to back-feed the rope
through the D2 and therefore it can
be used for smooth ascending or for
emergency hauling (when used as
part of a 2:1 ‘Z-rig’). The Descender is
compact and lightweight, allowing it to
be carried on the harness at all times.
SNAPHOOK
TAGS® RED BACKUP DEVICE
The TAGS® RED by ISC is a simple, yet
highly effective back-up device.
The RED's non-aggressive Cams have a
positively locking spring, which means
that the device is self-parking (rather
than self-tailing, like many Ropegrabs).
This self-parking function is important
for Rope Access work techniques as
they stipulate that the back-up device
should be positioned so as to reduce
fall factors to a minimum.
The TAGS® RED makes use of 'Rotational
Breaking'- the more the device
rotates clockwise, the greater the build
up of friction, which provides the automatic
breaking in the event of a fall or
sudden pull on the Cows-tail.
Safe Tactics Academy ®
COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING & CONSULTANCY WORLD
WIDE
Safe Tactics have been providing bespoke training and consultancy for military
and law enforcement special operations since 2001. All over the globe. In Spring
2013 we decided to formalize this very successful concept and continue under a
new brand name “SAFE TACTICS ACADEMY®”. Lets have a look what it’s all about
and why it is so unique.
WHY SAFE TACTICS?
Our mission in regards to training:
• Follow all the international Health and Safety
(HSE) standards, directives and guidelines.
• Latest technology and equipment on the market
being used.
• Safety measurements are important but have to
be reasonable in regards to the job
• Strong relation with field of operation (train to
the job).
• All training is developed in cooperation with the
customer: tailor made and flexible
• Trainers with many years of operational experience.
• Possibility to implement training solutions on
short notice.
• High quality standards: small groups and highly
qualified trainers.
• Fair price / quality proportion.
Safety is paramount!
Like you do, we want your operators to return
home safe. Safe Tactics clocks up an impressive
track record with over 14 years experience in this
field of operation and a zero accident rate!
SAFE TACTICS TRAINING CENTRE OR ON SITE
Most of the courses are held in our purpose built
600m 2 training centre near Amsterdam Airport in
the Netherlands. It features several structures which
makes practical scenario training look like the real
thing. Stances, ladders, towers, confined spaces, several
rooftops, buildings, balconies, breach area, etc.
Here we can “train to the job” in a safe learning environment.
As everything is risk assessed, made safe
for training, pre-rigged/set up etc. no valuable time is
lost. Not weather depending. Covert location; like you
we don’t want to share your tactics with bystanders
(OpSec). Many of the courses can also be facilitated
on site (worldwide).
CONSULTANCY
The experts in our team have been active in your field
of operation for decades. Solving operational problems
on a daily basis.
Some examples:
• Define a quality management system (HSQE) for
access training including a training and certification
scheme for operators engaged in high angle
access work.
• Assist in the implementation of maritime interception/boarding:
procedures, equipment selection
(not limited to our equipment) and bespoke
training.
• Risk assessment for a specific task (or site).
SAFE TACTICS ACADEMY®
TRAINING & CONSULTANCY
Safe Tactics have been providing bespoke access
training and consultancy for military and law enforcement
special operations since 2001. It started
in the Netherlands but soon we found ourselves on
the most remote locations on the planet. In 2010
we started to develop products together with Swedish
ascender manufacturer ActSafe® and under our
own brand name TAGS®. Based on field experience
with our end users we noticed there was a lot to
improve on the equipment side. Nowadays we are
developing and producing high end access gear. We
are proud we can state we are being supported by
some of the most famous top notch units around
the world.
Despite a massive evolution on the equipment side
we still value the fact that the best equipment still
does not automatically lead to success. It all starts
with the right procedures for the team and a well
trained operator who has the essential skills to perform
the task in a safe and effective manner.
Rather than training the operator to use a specific
tool (eg Air Launcher) we train the team to effectively
perform a task (e.g. get 10 mnts of the
existing boarding procedure and add safety by using
modern equipment). This unique approach has
proven to be very successful for many units.
WORK AT HEIGHT & ROPE ACCESS PROGRAM
This program follow HSE guidelines and EU-requirements
for working at height. They have been developed
in close cooperation with our sister company
field of Height Safety and Rescue! We have combined
their knowledge with our operational background and
experience in special operations. This cooperation
results in bomb-proof work solutions!
legal health and safety requirements for the job in
a very practical and effective manner! Suitable for
urban and industrial environment .
TACTICAL URBAN ACCESS COURSE
With the help of our extensive network we developed
a comprehensive Tactical Urban Access Course
(TUAC). This is not about abseiling and making silly
knots. Rather than showing techniques that look
fancy, we provide solutions that work! With the help
of your new skill set and the aid of innovative equipment
you will be able to go beyond the point where
you had to stop before. And, as always, in a safe and
effective manner.
TACTICAL MARITIME ACCESS COURSE
Safe and effective use of modern equipment in maritime
and hazardous environment: boarding various
types of vessels and offshore structures.
HIGH ANGLE K9 TACTICAL OR RESCUE COURSE
"No dog - no mission". Use of K9 in high angle operations
requires special skills and considerations for
the handler and specific training for your K9. That is
exact what this course is aiming at.
After a comprehensive skill training module we will
continue with scenario's which will be adapted to
your specific operational needs (detection, assault,
search and rescue, etc).
We offer these courses in our purpose built training
centre in the Netherlands where you can either bring
your four legged team mate or we provide a trained
K9. We can also train with you and your K9 on site
which enhances the team with your special team
mate specifically in the environment you will be
working in.
The course covers the use of a wide variety of innovative
equipment (air launchers, manual and pneumatic
poles and power ascenders) as well as basic climbing
skills and the use of minimal gear in urban environment.
COURSE PROGRAM IN 3 LEVELS
This program breaks down in 3 courses: Basic,
Advanced and Supervisor. Each level consists of 4
training days and one assessment day. If required the
Basic Course can be completed with an IRATA Level 1
Assessment (the world wide certification for civilian
Rope Access Operators). Note how ever that this
course program is not a generic rope access course!
TARGET AUDIENCE
These courses are ideal for many military and law
enforcement applications. Some examples:
• Police negotiators (suicide jumpers, hostage
rescue, etc.).
• Removing activists.
• Covert surveillance (audio & video placement,
covert operations that should look like civilian
activities).
• Military Engineering (building structures, communication
systems, etc.).
• Military, Law Enforcement & Rescue instructors
to improve knowledge and broad skill set that is
needed for trainers.
All courses are adapted to the specific needs of the
participants: train to the job!
The first week we will build a comprehensive "toolbox"
consisting of skills and techniques. This building
block is organized in our purpose built training centre.
The second week we will visit several locations around
the Netherlands for scenario based training. Scenario
training is an essential part of the course. Candidates
have to be very fit. At the end of the course it all
comes together in various practical scenarios.
These courses are aimed at Law Enforcement and
Military special operations units (CT/SO/Intelligence/
SWAT).
This course concentrate on the use of modern boarding
equipment: power ascenders, rope launchers,
various ladder systems, pneumatic and manual hook
on poles poles and back up alternatives. On top of
that the course aims to improve tactical insight and
-awareness in this high risk environment.
This course will be tailored to specific needs and
background of the participants.
Tailor made training
Most of our existing programs will always be tailored
to your teams specific needs and background.
We can adapt pace, level, environment, scenario’s,
equipment and skill sets.
We can also define training tailored to a specific
task or scenario; e.g. to evacuate people from one
building to another on a specific site.
Tell us your requirements; we will provide the best
possible solution for your team!
