Having surmounted all the hurdles and polled a whopping 57.61% of the overall votes, Efe has become a proud winner of N25m and an SUV courtesy MultiChoice Nigeria. The show, which lasted 11 weeks, was aimed at identifying, nurturing, and promoting young talent to a wide range of viewers which cut across the African continent. After a 10 year hiatus, the show was repackaged to give more Nigerian youth the opportunity to showcase their talent to the world. The year's edition was hosted by former Big Brother Nigeria housemate, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu. Managing Director, MultiChoice Nigeria John Ugbe, speaking on the show's finale said: "We are particularly excited about the fresh talent the Big Brother Naija platform has birthed. The buzz generated by the show has demonstrated its success as a platform that seeks to create stars and promote the spirit of entrepreneurship of the Nigerian youth." "We commend all the housemates for their excellent showing, endurance and determination." Citing the fame and fortune that the BBNaija platform provides, Ugbe further urged all the housemates to take a cue from the positive examples of past housemates such as Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Gideon Okeke, Katung Aduwak among others, in carving a niche for themselves in Nigeria's evolving entertainment industry. Debie-Rise emerged the third runner up, TBoss the second runner up and Bisola the first runner up. There were other wins for the night. TBoss won the least time in all Payporte games, while Bisola carted away the prize for having the best ONE campaign presentation for the education of the girl-child. TBoss was presented with a N500, 000 cheque and Bisola will join the ONE Campaign team in New York City for the girl-child education at the United Nations. The grand finale was quite exciting as the live audience and viewers were treated to music from two of Nigeria's biggest music stars: 2Baba and Tiwa Savage who performed her latest single “All Over”. EYO BASSEY THE GODFATHER OF BIG BROTHER NAIJA Story by Oluwaseyi Akindunbi Eyo Bassey is the chief executive officer of the Rom- Flex Group; an IT company and Payporte; Nigeria's arguable most preferred and fastest growing online store. Innovative, intelligent and suave Bassey is Eyo Bassey one of the youngest CEOs in Nigeria. In his late thirties, Bassey has indeed built a brand and organization, having offices in China, UK, United States etc. Payporte was the headline sponsor of the just concluded Big Brother Naija show. The show which started on the 22nd of January 2017 and ended on the 9th of April 2017 was the most talked about show during the three month period it lasted and Payporte was at the center of everything. Payporte was intrinsically involved with Big Brother Naija and this was obvious in some of the activities that went on in the house. For example, housemates were given outfits by Payporte for their parties on Saturdays, also Payporte organized the Friday Night Games and gave shopping vouchers to some housemates that won the game. Before the show was concluded, Payporte also made two of the already evicted housemates (Uriel and Soma) ambassadors; Uriel models the plus size female clothing while Soma models the male clothing. Payporte was a huge part of the success that the Big Brother Naija season two was. They shined the light on the show and inadvertently shined the light on the brand. Payporte also sponsored the Olori Wuraola 'Give Back Concert' which held in March. 'AY Live', one of the biggest annual comedy shows in Nigeria is also sponsored this year by Payporte. Kudos to Eyo Bassey for being innovative and for being supportive of the Nigerian entertainment industry. We also heard that Mr Eyo Bassey has plan to build a Big Brother Naija House in Nigeria in the nearest future. He celebrated his birthday in grand style alongside the Pepsi Corporate Elite Weekend Takeover. The Retro Black Tie event was held at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos and was attended by several celebrities in Nigeria. Tiwa Savage, Dr Sid, MI, PSQUARE, Praiz, and Flavour were some of the music artistes that thrilled the audience with their performances. The event also featured performances by some foreign artistes like Jidenna and Jagged Edge. That same night, J.Martins also celebrated his 10 years on Stage where he performed some of his songs, including ' E No Easy' with Psquare and 'Good Tym' with Angolan Musician Cabo Snoop. The event was indeed one to be remembered for a long while as the audience were still grooving till the early hours of Sunday.
