emeRgency sHelteR<br />
<strong>Women</strong> against abuse operates the only emergency<br />
shelter for abused women and their children in<br />
philadelphia. this 100 bed facility provides survivors<br />
with a comprehensive, on-site support system,<br />
including adult and children’s case management,<br />
child care and behavioral health services.<br />

support, once they exit the agency’s residential<br />
programs. aftercare case managers assist clients<br />
with relocating, maintaining independent housing,<br />
budgeting and other essential skills.<br />

<strong>Women</strong> against abuse operates the nation’s first<br />
legal center dedicated to the needs of domestic<br />
violence survivors. the legal Center provides<br />
free attorney representation, court advocacy and<br />
telephone counseling. legal Center staff assist<br />
survivors seeking protection from abuse orders,<br />
as well as child custody and support.<br />

PHiladelPHia domestic violence Hotline (PdvH)<br />
<strong>Women</strong> against abuse is the lead operator of the<br />
pDVH, providing approximately two-thirds of the<br />
hotline coverage. the pDVH is a free 24-hour point<br />
of access to crisis intervention, safety planning,<br />
linkages to community resources and entry to the<br />
emergency shelter.<br />
