36 Breakfast and After School Club Breakfast and After School Club The clubs take place in the Dining Hall of the Surbiton Assembly Rooms and are supervised by qualified staff with a ratio of one staff member to eight children. The clubs take place each day during term time and provide a safe, happy environment for your child. The Breakfast Club is available to all pupils from 7.30am until the start of your child’s school day. A nutritious breakfast is available until 8.15am. This includes a choice of cereal, toast, yoghurt and fruit juice. Pupils are escorted to their School for the start of their School day. The After School Club is available from the end of your child’s School day until 6pm. A healthy snack is offered, including freshly made sandwiches, fruit and vegetables. There is a homework and study area and, at the end of the afternoon, staff-supervised films and educational games. Both clubs offer a variety of activities such as art and craft, construction kits, role play, board games and sport. If you are interested in using the clubs and have not already completed the Registration Form, please contact our Breakfast and After School Club Manager, Mrs Fiona Meaney, via email at afterschoolclub@surbitonhigh.com. All children do need to be registered (a completed Registration Form together with the £10 registration administration fee and passport photographs of the pupil and all adult collectors) before they can use the facility. Bookings Bookings for each term can be made via email: afterschoolclub@surbitonhigh.com and you are able to make reservations for three options: Session 1: 3.00pm – 4.30pm Session 2: 4.30pm – 6.00pm Both sessions: 3.00pm – 6.00pm When making your booking, please give your child’s name and class. Please also take into consideration any before or after school clubs and residential or other trips scheduled for the term. It is possible to make bookings for the whole or half term, although these do need to be renewed at the end of each term. Cancellations and Fees As the clubs are very popular, if you have booked a place but do not need to use it, then please do let us know via email (afterschoolclub@surbitonhigh.com) so that we may allocate the space to another pupil. 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel bookings and there is a £16 charge made when places are booked but not taken up, with the exception of emergencies. Parents will be charged for late collection at a rate of £20. Fees for both clubs are added to the termly invoice, in arrears. Current charges are £6.75 for the Breakfast Club. The After School Club has a minimum charge of £6.20 for the first hour and afterwards is charged in 15 minute blocks of £1.55 per 15 minutes. There is a one-off £10 registration fee. CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES DRAMA Holiday Gymnastic Club During the holiday periods the gymnastics coaching staff run a gym club. The sessions are divided into two age groups: KS1 and KS2, which will cater for all ages and abilities. We will work on the basics of movement and balance in KS1 and then move onto more advanced jumps, rolls and sequences in KS2. We will also introduce some pair and group work for both age groups, as well as some fun gymnastic-based games as part of the warm up and cool down. In the first few days of the Autumn Term you will receive this Co-curricular booklet via MIS outlining information about the clubs we are offering. All bookings for clubs are taken through MIS using the online registration that you will be sent as part of your Friday communications for the Autumn Term along with details of any costs involved.
