OUTDOOR ED. & SPORTING <strong>News</strong><br />

Students and parents can meet a NASA astronaut and get<br />

hands on with Questacon at the RACQ Technology Challenge<br />

in Maryborough on September 15‐16.<br />

Representatives from Questacon – The National Science and<br />

Technology Centre based in Canberra – will host interactive<br />

displays and walk‐up workshops over the two day event.<br />

Explore high tech gadgets including the latest Australian<br />

inventions and take part in hands on engineering challenges<br />

and activities focussing on harnessing alternative energy. Free<br />

entry.<br />

Learn about lessons from space when NASA Astronaut Colonel<br />

Robert Kimbrough and his friends from NASA land the Central<br />

State School Hall at 2pm on Saturday to share stories of space‐<br />

flights and spacewalks. Free entry.<br />

Rookies2Reds Program Here at <strong>Riverside</strong>!<br />

When: 5 Week Program Tuesdays after school for<br />

one hour Term 4 Week 3 till Week 7.<br />

Age: Prep to 10 year olds (boys and girls).<br />

How to get involved: Go on the website, follow the<br />

instructions and register.<br />

Cost: $80 for the full five week program, which you<br />

pay via credit card on the website when you<br />

register (this includes the gear you will be given as<br />

part of the program).<br />

Students Part of the Fraser District Team<br />

The following 7 students are off to Wide Bay Athletics<br />

next week in Gympie as part of the Fraser District<br />

team. This is a great representation from <strong>Riverside</strong><br />

<strong>Christian</strong> <strong>College</strong>. Please wish them luck and we look<br />
