Trumpet and Flugelhorn master Guido Basso<br />

will play a selection of his favourite jazz standards<br />

from the Great American Songbook. He<br />

will be joined by bassist Dave Young, drummer<br />

Terry Clarke and pianist John Sherwood<br />

who have toured extensively around the world<br />

with Guido for many years. This group of jazz<br />

luminaries will combine forces to deliver an<br />

unforgettable evening of great music.<br />

JOSH SINCLAIRE TRIO: THE<br />

FUTURE OF CANADIAN JAZZ<br />

Come hear young jazz musicians explore the<br />

art of improvisation, paying homage to the<br />

tradition while looking forward. Inspired by the<br />

great trios led by Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, and<br />

Brad Mehldau, the group will play songs from<br />

the Great American Songbook as well as some<br />

new material, including tunes by McCoy Tyner,<br />

Kenny Wheeler, and the Beatles. Originating<br />

from Toronto and studying at the U of T, the<br />

Josh Sinclaire Trio is well exposed to the modern<br />

jazz scene, and draws influences from many<br />

different places.<br />
