Family: Husband,
Aaron; two children:
Abbey, 5, and Hudson, 2.
Interests: Spending
time with family, teaching
others about creation.
couple of months,” she said.
“It’s been really exciting.”
The beginnings of Beadner’s
latest venture, Guiding Star Orange
City, were initiated when
she hosted a postpartum FertilityCare
workshop last August.
“I shared about Fertility-
Care, I had a lactation consultant
come and speak, I had a
physical therapist come and
talk about restoring pelvic floor,
and I had a postpartum doula
come and talk about postpartum
care and herbalism,” she
said. “While we were putting together
that workshop, we realized
all of these aspects are not
covered in the doctor’s office,
but they’re all really important
things that women want and
need.”
Beadner previously had
come across the Duluth, MNbased
Guiding Star Project, an
initiative created by Leah Jacobson,
which seeks to create
greater unity and collaboration
of pro-life groups across
the country. Its mission is “to
establish comprehensive centers
nationwide for women and
families that uphold Natural
Law and promote a New Feminism
through a complimentary
view of humanity that places
women, men and children in
loving family circles of trust,
stability, and of mutual giving
and acceptance.”
“Leah started the Guiding
Star Project in hopes of bringing
life-affirming or pro-life
services for families together
under one roof so people didn’t
have to go out and find all these
different services,” Beadner
said.
“Doulas aren’t advocates; they actually
just give the support that the
family needs to be able to achieve the
goals that they have."
CERTIFIED FERTILITYCARE PRACTITIONER, LABOR DOULA &
OWNER OF ORANGE CITY FERTILITYCARE CENTER
The network of Guiding
Star locations provide not only
pregnancy resources, but also
a prenatal and birthing center,
natural family planning, counseling,
child care and a community
conference space.
Beadner wanted to expand
that vision to Orange City.
“I thought a Guiding Star
Center would be really valuable
in this area,” she said. “People
want this.”
Beadner immediately set to
work on the idea.
“I contacted Leah Jacobson
in August after that workshop,
and here we are today, having
our grand opening March
2, so it went really fast,” she
said. “Once I started talking to
different organizations in our
area, people started jumping on
board.”
She’s excited for the new
venture — located in the Dutch
Plaza at 123 Albany Ave. S.E.
Suite 5 — but more than anything,
she’s looking forward
to educating others about the
value of creation and life.
“We are about the whole aspect
of life from conception to
natural death, and that’s one of
our biggest tenants: Every life
should be respected and valued,
no matter what part of the
life that person is — the father,
the mother, the baby. We really
want to do all that we can to
support all of those aspects,”
Beadner said.
