STELLAR BRIDGE OF STARI MOST<br />
THE OLD BRIDGE IN THE CITY OF MOSTAR IN BOSNIA AND<br />

Our pick for your next getaway might not be your conventional European destination but<br />
the city of Mostar certainly has a lot to offer. What we absolutely love is the Stari Most,<br />
literally translated to Old Bridge which spans the Neretva river for over 400 years. It was<br />
officialy opened in 1566 but destroyed in 1933 and then rebuilt by 2004. The location is<br />
popular for diving competitions, in which traditionally men would leap from the bridge to<br />
the cold river. The city of Mostar itself is worth a visit with its old turkish houses and a true<br />
testament to its people as it was the most heavily bombed city in the country during the<br />
war.<br />
