Our Signature House Oyster
s The Blackwall Beauty s
We’ve partnered with a local supplier, War Shore Oyster
Company, to have our very own house oyster. You’ll only
find these farm-raised beauties at Blackwall Hitch.
Especially when paired with our new duo of sauces,
The Blackwall Beauty is a truly signature delicacy
that complements our unique dining experience.
The Blackwall Beauty has a balanced flavor in the
mid-range for salinity with a nice brine up front and
a sweeter finish.
Virginia-based War Shore Oysters is a family-owned
operation committed to ethically growing and sourcing
the highest-quality, best-tasting Oysters. With their
“farm to restaurant within twenty-four hours” delivery
model, War Shore is a niche provider of fresh farm
raised oysters.
OYSTER RECOVERY PARTNERSHIP
As a concept focused on creating local connections, it’s so important to the
Blackwall Hitch family that we help to improve the communities that we serve.
One way we’re expanding our green footprint is by joining forces with the
Oyster Recovery Partnership, a non-profit that promotes ecological shellfish
restoration, to ensure our oysters are sustainably recycled.
So the journey of every oyster in our restaurant is from the water to the restaurant and then
right back to the water. Knowing that Blackwall oysters contribute to the health of our local
oyster populations and the Chesapeake Bay makes them taste that much better.
